2022 NSX Type S Registry

I am still having a problem with 19UNC1B08NY011001. As a reminder, it showed up online at Autonation Acura South Bay. It was listed on the dealer's website. It was ordered in Berlina Black with and Ebony leather interior and sold on 12/16/22. Subsequently, it is listed on many auto tracking websites:

Although only circumstantial, here's the photo Autonation post on the listing:

If the report on #347 is accurate (sold by Lindsay Acura and is 130R White), then this car goes beyond the 350 production. I still do not have any confirmed data on #347. Just about every entry in the NSX Type S tracker has no less than 3 independent data points. Not sure where this is going to end up. I am still scratching my head on this car. It remains the final data point to mapping out all the 350 car production. If anybody has information, please post it. As soon as this is figured out, then I'll have a major update to the NSX Type S tracker.

I have #190 and here are the details: Valencia Red Pearl, Ebony Interior, Full Leather, Lightweight Package, Red Calipers, Berlina Black Gloss Wheels and XM Radio. I had the wonderful folks at Acura of Wichita install Illuminated CF Door Sill Trim, Cargo Net and the Battery Charger. The car was reserved early on August 13, 2021 within minutes of another interested party who wanted Gotham Gray. I had the once-in-a-lifetime experience to go to the PMC, Anna Engine Plant and Acura Proving Grounds for the NSX Insider Experience with my son and son-in-law. I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment owning this fantastic car.

Found car #135, 19UNC1B07NY000135 at an auto event back on October 8th, 2022. Painted in Casino White Pearl with red leather/Alcantara seats. This car was originally sold at Carter Acura of Lynnwood, Colorado. It has Shark Gray Matte wheels, the lightweight package with Red calipers. This is one of the rarer configurations without the XM option. The photographer is Luis Augusto @luisangelmex.

Wow never thought I could find much information on the early builds. Found a video posted by Esoteric Detail. Apparently, they have wrapped 7 Type S cars. This is car #003, 19UNC1B01NY000003. The first Long Beach Blue Pearl car in the production line. It also has the Orchid leather/Alcantara seats, lightweight package, the CF binnacle, Berlina Black gloss wheels with black calipers. It was sold originally at Lindsay Acura.

Another Gotham Gray Matte Metallic has been found. This was a toughie to find. Turns out an Acura tech took some pictures and videos July 2022 and fortunately, it filled in the missing configuration information plus confirming the originating dealership (Elite Acura). Car #159, 19UNC1B0XNY000159 has red leahter/Alcantara seats, XM radio, Shark Gray Matte wheels with iron rotors and red calipers. Clearly it has the CF engine cover (as do all car regardless of options selected). Because the posted MSRP on the sales history is $178,745, meaning it has no other options.

Here's the first confirmed JDM RHD Type S with a complete picture set. This is car #321, chassis number NC1-1500021. Ordered in Casino White Pearl with NO rear carbon fiber spoiler and red full leather seats. Wheels appear to be Shark Gray Matte with red calipers and what appears to be iron rotors. It does not have a CF interior; but as with all other Type S cars, a CF engine cover.

I can answer this, as I know the story behind this one. AutoNation Acura listed this vehicle as they got a last-minute allocation (which they were probably e not expecting). Ironically this ACURA dealer is only 5 miles from corporate office. A friend of mine from GA flew down to CA to purchase the car, while in was still in transit. Long story short he told me that there is some fiasco going on, and he was unable to get the car (got a refund for his deposit that he paid over the phone). He had been trying hard to get the car (lawyer was involved). Apparently, this car (he was told by the dealership) is going to Max Verstappen.

I am not entirely sure of what transpired between when ACURA allocated this to Autonation South Bay and later either revoked the allocation, and sent it off to Max Verstappen.
Interesting, that does help me out on nailing down the 350 units. I am going to assume this car is not part of the 350. However, the car Max got was an RHD, doh!

Now that I've determined one of the two Casino White Pearl JDM cars, I know the configuration of car #306, chassis number NC1-1500006. Again, pictures pulled from video clearly shows this car with iron rotors with Berlina Black Gloss wheels and red calipers (standard with iron rotors). The seats are red leather/Alcantara. Looking at the dash, the CF interior was chosen. It does have the CF steering wheel and the CF binnacle. Also of interest, this is one of the few cars with the CF rear spoiler. Video credit goes Motoharu Sato.

are you going to nsxpo in Atlanta?
there should be a good S turnout.

NSX Type S car #340, 19UNC1B0XNY800010 is a Canadian allocation. The seats are the only Orchid leather/Alcantara selected amongst the cars sold in Canada. As with all the cars allocated, this one also has the lightweight package. Wheels are Shark Gray Matte with red Calipers. This one is confirmed to not have the XM radio option. Photos by Argy

We're getting very close to the next major update to the NSX Type S Tracker. I've been busy filling in all the missing options, reconfirming existing datapoints and correcting any errors. It's amazing how inaccurate information is on reported sales to the DMV/state. Exterior colors, selling dealership and even VIN numbers. Heck the same car is sold twice within days and the color and price will change. This forces me to cross reference 4, 5 or even 6 different sources before gaining confidence on information for a car. For example, I typically reference at least 8 different sites to confirm the sale of a car, its originating dealership, color and MSRP. If I am lucky, maybe 3 will have data. Of course, the best approach is to have visual/photographic confirmation. Even then, there are many sites that track car VINs with bad information/data too. I have found claims of a car's production number or VIN and its clear the photos are of a press car. I routinely locate these photos in press articles to be sure. Be aware there are bad VINs everywhere. I've seen completely invalid entries such as 19UNC1B0XNY800024, implying there is more than 15 cars sent to Canada. Any reported to the DMV/State that are incorrect are noted in the library tracker. As mentioned previously, data for Japan is starting to show up and correlating to social media postings. Over the last couple of weeks, I've gone back on the list to determine what type of instrument cluster cover aka binnacle is installed (Alcantara covered or carbon fiber). This research is going take a while to complete. About 40 have been determined so far. You've probably noticed that I am proactively posting pictures. The reason is to have a record for owners to reference and to allow search engines to find NSX prime.

Drum roll please......

Here's the exterior color summary today. There are many new additions but there are also a couple of corrections. The one addition to Novelle Blue Pearl came from a previously assigned Long Beach Blue Pearl. Same the was found between Valencia Red Pearl and Curva Red. The big addition came from the Japan allocations. That said, you can see that only 64 cars are Gotham Gray Matte. Canada and Japan both took their full allocations. I don't believe there are 6 color mistakes, meaning the US did not order all 70 GGMM slots. Several other new sources were compared with our tracker and no additional miscolors were detected. I am still amazed NBP is only at 14 units and only in the US. Neither Japan nor Canada ordered a NBP color. I remember early in production, many thought Berlina Black would be rare. On the contray, it was pretty popular. But wow, the whites, Casino Pearl and 130R are seriously the preferred color. LBBP matched CWP at 45 units each.

Here's a new summary for everyone, interior color. Finally, we topped 300 in count. The majority of the determinations come from photographs. It is crazy sometimes to try and see through the windshields and reflections to figure out the interior options. Funny enough, I found other sites that report interiors as "WHITE" because in the pictures one can see the shipping protective covers are still in place. When in fact, the interior was actually Red Alcantara. LOL. As a reminder, the interior name speaks to only the seat colors. The dash and doors are all ebony leather/Alcantara material. Other sites are getting this wrong.
  • Ebony Leather has black leather bolsters and black leather inserts.
  • Ebony Alcantara has black leather bolsters and Alcantara inserts.
  • Red Leather has red leather bolsters and red leather inserts.
  • Red Alcantara has red leather bolsters and black Alcantara inserts.
  • Orchid Alcantara has white leather bolsters and black Alcantar inserts.
Now for the summary. It's pretty amazing to see that it was almost even across all the available options with Ebony leather a few percentages higher than average. Orchid was the lowest at 14.4%.

Anybody interested in brake caliper color popularity? Probably the biggest change from the last update was a higher selection of the silver calipers. This was the launch color in print and on most of the press cars (GGM the exception w/red). However, a few more folks ventured away from the most popular color, red. About Red, the count includes those cars with iron rotors, as they only come with red calipers, and CC rotors. We still have 74 cars to go. You may notice that there are only 17 orange calipers and yet there are 24 Thermal Orange Pearl cars. Those that did not chose orange chose red but there is one with black calipers. There are two cars not TOP with orange calipers, one is Valencia Red Pearl and the other Gotham Gray Matte. But by far the winner is Red at 75%

Last by not least is the wheel color. As data was being collected it looked like the percentage was going to be nearly split down the middle. But as the count went up, Berlina Black Gloss became the preferred choice. I bet when complete, 2/3rds are BBG and the remaining 1/3rd are SGM. Until then, BBG is leading at nearly 62%!

found some good pics for car #210, 9UNC1B06NY000210, in Curva Red over red leather/Alcantara seats. Manufactured in later August 2022, #210 does have the lightweight package with contrasting Berlina Black Gloss wheels and matching red calipers. It does have the XM radio option. Photo credit goes to Weir Canyon Acura and owner @ezeddy. This was the 15th Curva Red NSX Type S off the production line. Estimated MSRP is $186,495.
