'94 NSX Shift Lever Knob Removal Mystery

I am attempting to replace the original manual shift lever knob with another of the same. I have the panel that surrounds the shift removed but not off of the hand brake handle or shifter. I don't see how the old knob is removed. My manual doesn't show that detail. The new knob appears that it clips on (two plastic 'tongues' on the bottom of the knob) but I have been unalbe to determine how the original one is removed. What is the secret? THX!

You have to squeeze both sides of of the base of the shit Knob, to release the booth.
