Thanks for taking your time and putting up all those pictures with part numbers shown. Car is nice and clean too.

Hi,

here comes a long overdue update on the 02+ Taillights:

Photos of them instaled and compared with Pre 02 Euro/JDM Taillights

Nuno

PS - i don't have the OEM exhaust and also have the 02+ rear valence now

Hi,

Great car Nuno!
Thanks Bas

Well... here is another update..... done a long time ago (talk about lazy ass)

I installed the NSX-R style TFEnt red carpet.

The job was so crazy hard to do, that i completely forgot to take photos of
the install process.

I also installed the NSX-R style red mats with OEM NSX-R emblem that i bought
when Vance Hu managed a group buy for them:

Here are photos of my old OEM black carpet with black mats against the
new TFEnt NSX-R Style red carpet with NSX-R Style mats:

i love the carpet, but after using it this long, 2,5 years, i have to say that
the fur is much more weak and sensitive than the OEM one.... it tends to
lose it's form with use.

Here is the usual weight savings table:

20100604_-_weight.jpg

as you can see, this is not weight saving... in this case, aftermarket increases
the weight by 30%

i'm all about weight saving, but i also love the look and sometimes we just
have to compromise.

Just out of curiosity, i weighted one OEM seat and posted so you all could see it.
(in blue, and it doesn't count on the weight savings math)

Hi,

well... here comes one more update, and part is a consequence of my last one (Carpet)

I replaced the OEM Antenna with a Shark Antenna:

when i removed the Passenger Airbag (see post #10) i already had the idea of
installing a red carpet, so i thought that when i did that i would then remove the
remain components of the whole SRS system: Sensors, Harness and ECU.

Here I WILL POST PHOTOS OF THESE SRS PARTS:

I also removed the inner plate of the driver kneepad... dead weight

and here is the usual weight savings table:

20100605_-_weight.jpg

With this we can know that the entire SRS system weights 8610gr / 18.97lbs

More updates very soon.... very interesting updates (just missing a couple of photos).

Hi,

well... this update was made in a bit of a rush and i didn't took photos of the process,
nor i weighted both old and new parts :frown:

i think it's the worst documented update i've done.

I bought a 02+ Rear Valence Replica done by Jetz.... before he dissapeared.

and i had it modded to what i think it looks best.

The old look was:

The regular 02+ valence looks like this:

and here is mine after the mod:

i also swapped the OEM oval Startrek exhaust tips to ARK round tips and painted the license surround frame from red to black.

What you guys say?? Does it look better?? (The mesh is flat black)

Thanks,
Nuno

hi nuno, the 02 rear update looks fantastic of cousre; but i think that the enlarged black portion of the licence plate surround may be a little too much 'black' imho. no longer running the silver CF console no more?

I can't believe I have never seen this thread. Wow... Nuno I like the way you do things.

Hi,

Thanks guys

Well... here is another update.... Exhaust

Well... i finally installed the Advance Titanium exhaust and ARC Titanium test pipes...
...i bought them a long time ago....like 2 years (go figure).

Here are pics of the parts:

Sorry, but i didn't shot photos of the test pipes myself, so i used the one from the SOS website.

To install this, i removed my OEM exhaust, already with the round ARK tips:

I already bought the NSX with this hack job on the exhaust... it was done by the first owner...
it works flawless regardless of the bad look.
(i wonder what was done internally, as the welds suggest that it was opened up)

Here are photos of the OEM one installed (both with OEM oval tips and ARK ones) and with the
Advance Titanium also installed:

This is one of the best exhaust there is for the NSX IMO...
(together with the GT-One 2.1 Titanium that Vance Hu had)

here is the usual weight saving table:

20120224_-_weight.jpg

juts FIY, the test pipes hardware (gaskets, bolts, washers and nuts) is heavier than 1 test pipe

That's it....one more interesting update will come right up

Thanks,
Nuno

Hi,

I replaced my old set of D2 coilvers with a fresh set... not that i was having a problem or
that i was unhappy with them, but a local guy wanted mine so he could save some cash
and i thought that was a good chance to refresh.

Here are photos of the old D2s (with 65.000kms / 40.000mls):

And here are photos of the new D2 set:

Here they are installed, one front and one rear:

i kept the same lowering: 2cm a little less than 1".

and here is the usual weight saving table:

20120225_-_weight.jpg

Note that this weight saving adds up to the one on my first table, so, from OEM shocks to
these last D2 coilovers, i saved a total of 9.5Kg / 20.9lbs

That's it for now

Thanks,
Nuno

Excelente trabalho !!

Great job you have done in your NSX...very nice to see this information, and the updates are very good!

Hi,

well... not so much for 5 years... can has been stopped in my garage for 4 years now.

but... but... it's almost... almost time to get it up and running again ;)

Thanks,
Nuno

Nuno, I know it's been a while, but do remember how you got the horn to work after removing the SRS wiring? I thought you needed the wiring for the horn circuit?

Hi,

ok... this post reports my last update: the 02+ OEM Wheels.

i bought a complete set, rims and tires, and their condition is almost new... mint.

Here is a photo of my old side by side with the new ones (16/17 vs 17/17)... all of them OEM:

To clear the front calipers, i had to buy spacers, and i bought the Dali 5mm for all 4 wheels.
Here they are by themselfs and installed on the car, both Front and Rear:

Here are some photos from all angles:

The Center Caps are not installed on porpose... i want to do something to them... i have some ideas and i'm showing them on a poll in this thread.

Here you can see the gap caused by the spacer between the rim and the hub:

Here you can see the caliper clearance. As you can see, the caliper's paint is very bad, which i'll take care next... very soon:

About the weight...well... i'm a bit disapponted as the weight increased and as it is unsprung weight, it's even worse... the things a guy got to do for looks

Here is the usual weight table:

20090725_-_weight.jpg

Thanks,
Nuno

Did you have to install extended studs with the 5mm spacers or are you ok with the stock studs?
