a questions regarding jewelry and diamonds

I am thinking about buying my wife a pair of diamond ear rings. I notice that there is a price differance between registered diamonds and regular diamonds. I would imagine that a registered diamond is a better quality than others but am not for sure.

Does anyone have any knowledge on diamonds and the differance between registered and non resitered diamons?

A graded diamond doesn't mean its better quality, it just means that it has been inspected by an expert third party and you know exactly what you're getting. You want a graded stone so you can compare price between similar stones.
