A Twist on how to Install a DD in an NSX ~new lense too!

thanks for the kind words! Wait till you see what I have in store for my own NSX later on this year as time permits.

Always better to start with an OEM dash since either way you need to fit it so why bother with an aftermarket piece.

Everything is either epoxy, bondo, filler or a mixture depending on the final look I'm going after. Still debating what I want to display on my NSX dash so have to lay out my dash. My goal is to implement a new iPad ver.2 once Apple releases it but have to decide on my plan of attack first.

Any thoughts with the iPad 2 in the dash? Anyone?

I've been planning this for months - stay tuned as we do testing!

There's a few hiccups we are tackling:

a) Glare due to angle of dash
b) Width of iPad2 is greater than dash (Big problem)
c) Where to mount source unit

It's easy to fiberglass an iPad into the dash of larger vehicles such as SUV or trucks as seen here (this is my inspiration)

I already have most of the parts so this is my project for 2011.....

Rick, BTW the stereo rocks hard! Thanks for such a clean install and storing my car at your shop for ummmm.... 6 or 7 months? haha.

Maybe considering a Subwoofer in trunk to complete the project ;)

I'm the one sitting on the passenger side.

You should try a playbook install. It's much smaller and will fit very nice.

Agreed there are many smaller screens (Xoom is also nice) but we want to stick with the Apple as it still is by far the most well supported tablet on the market today.
