Best route through Chicago & Milwaukee to Elkhart Lake

I'll be driving to NSXPO across Ohio and Indiana on I90 and would like any advice from natives of those areas on their ideas of the best route.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Howard

I will be taking 94 North through Milwaukee and on toward Green Bay until the turnoff. There are better, slower/twistier routes, but that is my route.

if coming from further east, you could take the ferry from muskegon to milwaukee and skip chicago altogether... I'll be doing that on my return trip.

Day and time dependent, you might want to avoid 90/94 through Chicago and use 294 (tollway) instead.
