I think it's the plastic shield of the rear brakes, mainly shielding the parking brake cable.

Do these not fit with a BBK? Because after the install the mechanic handed them to me. Should they go back on?

Do not fit. I'm shocked they did'nt give you your dust shields as well. Usually those come off too.
