can't login to Prime with Firefox

Prime rejects my login attempts when I use Firefox with "invalid username or password" message. I can login with another browser.
I reset my password (Prime emailed me a new one). That didn't fix the problem.
I tried another browser. That works. It's failing only on Firefox.
This is new: I had been using Firefox successfully with Prime for a while. It's only recently that I can't login to Prime with it.
I'm using Firefox 64.0 on Ubuntu Linux (x86_64).
I'd be happy to help in troubleshooting this, just let me know if there's anything I can do. (programming since 1973, understand HTML and TCP/IP)

Have you tried going into Firefox where it stores usernames and passwords and then remove your old ones? Firefox is working for me.

I have now, and it made a difference. I thought that manually typing my password would override whatever Firefox had on file -- but clearing the password resolved the problem.

It's still a mystery why this problem cropped up after several years of no problems at all, but what would life be without mystery.
