Hey Guys, anyone going to Celebration this year it is a great show and time for all. I hope the NSX contingent in the area will have a better showing this year. Last year only 2 NSX were there. Great cause lets give some support. Date is 4-9-11. See you there.

I love attending that show as a spectator, but just can't talk myself into dedicating a weekend to it as a participant. Sounds like fun, but too far, too much time, etc.

I plan on going just not sure if I will put the car in it.

I have participated a couple times in the past, it's a great event. I went as a spectator last year, saw the two lonely NSX's, compared to the past when there were at least seven or so if not more.

I would like to have another NSXCapades get together based around the Celebration show. I guess we need to start planning. I was thinking we could do the show one day and do some drives the second day.

The celebration show is awesome!

The rally on Sunday is really fun with Police escort on 428, just watch out for pesky f-cars and lambos going by at verrrry high speed, I'm not that brave. Stopping traffic on I4 is also amazing. Hope to see some of you there.

My wife and I are planning on attending from Raleigh, NC. Flying down. Have attended every year for the past 4. Indeed a great show for a good cause in a beautiful setting. Have met several NSX owners there over the years. Hope to see some of you this year.

John

I remember the first year I attended this event. (2007 I think?) There were about 10 NSX's in the show. They had a prime spot along the lake just across from the movie theater. I think one of the event's organizers/staff members owned a white NSX at the time. I believe he has since moved on to an F-Car. Last year as I recall there were only about 4 NSX's entered.

Would be nice to see more NSX's.

I am not sure if we would want to have our cars in the event. Hanging out all day might not be much fun. But maybe it would be.

I was thinking we would at least organize and event to get 20 cars or so. Go to the show on Sat AM and do another drive in the hills. Then those that wanted to leave could go, and those that wanted to stay could do a golf event on Sunday AM ... maybe bella colina again??? and then have lunch and go home.

I think i was in that show, you are talking about prime member his name was Joe (can't remember his Prime name). I know he bought a P-Car. There were a bunch of us and I did it a couple years in a row. Honestly though, it's a long day, hanging out from 8am or so to 4pm. It was fun but a long day. Last year there were two NSX's that I recall. I like to go, check out the cars get lunch and then leave.

Planning on going will be down there around noon, taking the NSX do not have it entered....I'm non-commital like that, just ask my GF...I kid, I kid...

I'll be there as well.

Was thinkin' about entering the car, but leanin' towards goin' as a spectator now since it's my first time and I wanna be free to wander. Maybe enter the car next year.

Either way, I will be there

You can still wonder for a good bit, except when they do judging and the award procession if you need to go receive your trophy.

It's just a long day if you are in it. It is a very nice show. Anyway I'll be there with my GF.

I'm too weird to leave my car unattended at shows. I've had a couple of other cars that trophied in a number of shows so I've done the sit in a lawn chair all day thing - that doesn't bother me nearly as much as the lack of consideration of the crowd. Watching what spectators think it's ok to do with someone else's car just plain astounds me. When I was in St. Pete last week at the Festival of Speed show I watched some guy tell his kid to sit on the front fender of an unattended 1957 Ferrari Testarossa so he could take his picture. I politely pointed out that the car was worth somewhere in the vicinity of 7 figures and the owner might (justifiably) dismantle and eat his child if he saw the kid on the fender. As Albert Einstein so aptly put it;

"I believe only two things are boundless - the Universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the Universe."

But I digress.

Maybe we can connect somehow. I'll buy ya a beer. Or an iced tea. Or a mojito. Or whatever you and the GF usually drink at such gatherings

This is very true, if you don't own a car that's special to you on a very high level, you are ignorant to the level that some people care and respect their cars. That said, I have seen NSX owners leaning agains their own cars with jeans on...and all I can think of is the rivets....

Anyway meeting up sounds good, I should be there with a few people around noon or so, I'll PM you my number.

My car's too low to lean on LOL. Even if it wasn't, I can't imagine leaning on my car in fleece sweats, never mind in a pair of jeans. With rivets. Yikes.

My position is a simple one - if you're too friggin' tired to stand up, feel free to sit on the ground. Or lay down. I don't care. But my car is not a couch. It's not a couch for me, so therefore it's not a couch for "you" either. I think that's more than fair. And I always try to say it nicely. Which doesn't, of course, stop said tired people from calling me a dick anyway LOL :redface::cool:

PM received. And PM sent. See ya there

any pictures? thanks

Funny you should ask

I'll post 'em tomorrow. In the middle of somethin' else right now that I can't quit.

Just dropped in to get a quick Prime fix LOL

Ok. Gettin' to this way later than I had hoped so I'll keep the commentary brief and let the pictures do most of the talkin'.

Perfect day. Excellent setting. Good showing - lots of nice cars. Small NSX contingent (4), although it was good to see 4 there. Kudos to the NSX guys. Spectacular FXX, an F1 car with Schumacher's signature on it, a new Alfa Romeo that completely blew me away (when did Alfa start building such nice cars?) - a couple of pretty funky Rolls/Bentleys (tried to like 'em - couldn't do it), a Saleen that I might've given a bodypart for if someone had asked, a killer white SL65 Black Series, a whole flock of DeLoreans, a nice Noble, and a sweet Ford GT, just to name a very few. Disproportionately high number of Ferraris. If this was someone's first car show, they would have spent the afternoon wondering when Ferraris became a dime a dozen LOL. While there was enough diversity to make things interesting, even more diversity would have definitely been a good thing. Although I have to confess that swimming in a sea of spectacular Ferraris is really not that hard to take. At least not for one afternoon

Met up with Carl (clr1024 here on the board) and his GF - great people - was a much more enjoyable afternoon having been spent in their company. Thanks Carl. Say hi to your honey for me

Pics'll give you some idea of what it was like. I fully expect to return next year - it was a day well spent...

Thanks Bill nice to meet you and your's and I will let Sarah know you said hi. WE had a good time, random and fun are always good in my book:biggrin:

I agree with Bill lot of Ferrari's, not a bad thing but wish there was more variety. Still a very nice collection of cars and $$$$.

Wish I could have made it. The bacon and pancake breakfast at the Cafe is reason enough to make the pilgrimage down there.

<O:p</O:pI'll be down in Central FL</ST1:p the weekend of April 29. We're going over to the cape to watch Endeavour take off one last time. My son works at NASA here at their engine testing facility and he has vip passes. Be spending Saturday in Orlando with my inlaws.

<O:p</O:pProbably won't be able to take the NSX, though. My other son will probably want to ride down with Sandy and me so we'll need a back seat. Time to roll with the Camry beater.

<O:p</O:pThanks for posting the pics, Bill. Looks like you couldn't swing a dead catalytic converter without hitting a Testarosa. And that is some group of DMCs. There should be a name for such a gathering...like a pride of lions, an exultation of larks, a murder of crows...how about "a snort of DeLoreans?"
