Due to bad economy-NO FRONT LICENSE PLATE BILL -Proposed

This is the case here in Alberta as well. We were suppose to get new plates, and a return to having to have a front plate was on the table.
Cost for the new plate has been delayed indefinitly because of the economy. So, no return to a front plate either!!!
We have not had a front plate requirement for approx. 10 years.

Here's a disadvantage to the proposed law: We seem to have a lot of red light cameras popping up in our fine state. Most of these cameras are configured to take a picture of the front tag, thereby also capturing the driver's face. So if you don't have a front plate you don't have much chance of getting one of these tickets. These red light cameras are a total scam anyway, see stories here and here.

If Colorado ceases to require a front plate, these cameras will be reconfigured to take a shot of the vehicle's rear plate.

Not that I would ever consider running a red light, of course....

Congrats, hope California (state of fruits and nuts) passes a bill like that.

The more realistic situation includes the following:
1. The front plate law is not abolished
2. Instead states increase VLF - vehicle license fee - to cover the costs of the front plate
