Factory Alarm

The alarm on my 98 suddenly do not respond to both remotes, but still
activates when the key is used in locking the door. Any ideas?

Hi,

try to see if the fuse on the keyless harness is blown... it's behaving as you had no keyless at all.

Is the fuse under the hood or in the alarm control unit?

Hi,

the fuse is attached to the keyless module harness... the keyless module is under the glovebox, right at the passenger's feet. This harness goes from the keyless module and connects to the car harness behind the glovebox, which makes you remove the glovebox itself to see the complete harness...

here in this thread you can see the photos in my posts that show the keyless module complete details... the fuse is the purple plug that has "3" stamped white in it.

here in this other thread, you can see my keyless instalation and can get an idea where is the harness so you can seek it out.

I doubt both remotes would have their batteries die at the same time, but.........
