The latest inane offering from PETA.

Some highlights:

"PETA thought that by renaming fish sea kittens, compassionate people who would never dream of hurting a dog or a cat might extend that sympathy to fish, or sea kittens," PETA campaign coordinator Ashley Byrne says.

"Most parents would never dream of spending a weekend torturing kittens for fun with their families, but hooking a sea kitten through the mouth and dragging her through the water is the same as hooking a kitten through the mouth and dragging her behind your car," Byrne says.

HAHAHA! Have a look at some of the pictures as well, they're hilarious. What's next, naming rats "Sewer Puppies?"

I named my sea kitten, "Snacks". It's got a crown, lip stick, kitty ears and whiskers, glasses, business jacket, and floaties. It's also got a bowl of water and playing with a ball of yarn....

It started out as a trout but now I made it all cute and cuddly...... no one is gonna want to hurt my poor sea kitten now.....

Wow do I feel less than a man right now....

This is really really strange, and I doubt anyone will be able to stop commercial fishing by doing this.

When I was yound, I watch those cute piggy movies too, and my father and I both keep fish as hobby. It didn't stop me eating sushi, salmon steak, nor numerous pork product.

I wouldn't want to see how they kill a cow, but hey that porterhouse I just had at outback was so yummy...:tongue:

In more serious note, I'm totally against fish games. Especially those stupid shows on tv, look, they always say look at that beauty, for god sake, you just drag and tug with that poor fish for an hour... Have mercy, just gut it, bring it home and feed the kids.

I named mine Ivory for it's ivory, tusk like unicorn feature. It's often fished off the coast of Africa more so for it's ivory than it's meat.

This is my Sea kitten "Princess Hebi Atama". Ain't she just so adorable with her tiara, pearl necklace, pink lip stick, cute pink kitty ears and eye lashes that go on forever? Check it out, she even has a awesome water dish that says, "Meow".

Who would ever dream of hurting my precious Sea kitten, "Princess Hebi Atama"?

Better not visit some of the poorer parts of the Philippines and other Asian countries. Cats and Dogs are fair game when your choices are starving to death or eating Fido. :wink:
 
I can't respect an organization that puts animals above people. I'm all for stopping animal cruelty but that's not PETA's agenda. They are against all animal killing, period. They will tell you that if you are starving in the forest you can't hunt for food. Sorry--you just have to die. Eat some weeds. And they condone violence against people to stop violence against animals.

IMO they are doing a disservice to the animal cruelty movement.
