A friend of mine named Drew is from Tennessee and he came out to visit this past weekend. He's a huge car nut (runs his own small shop, time attack and drift teams), and it was his first time being west of Oklahoma. I planned a big car weekend for him so he could experience the car wonders that SoCal has to offer!
He came in Thursday night and I immediately chose the big guns and picked him up from LAX in the NSX, arguably one of the coolest airport shuttles around.
The next day we headed out to Evasive Motorsports to shoot the **** with those guys. They just moved into a new shop and it's looking great.
I love their Voltexed S2000
I get a hardon over underbody aero
Later that night I had a bunch of car friends over for tacos. It was really awesome because one of my gurus of driving was able to show up and hang out. He's a 65 year old independent BMW mechanic that's helped me a lot throughout my track day/driving career.
The next morning (Saturday) we got up semi early to head out to Cars & Coffee. Unfortunately we stayed up a bit too late on Friday night so we got to C&C a bit late. We did catch a plethora of nice cars leaving, and overall the lot was pretty empty. That being said, there were still some nice and interesting cars to see.

It was badass because they had a BRZ there!
Interior is nice and high quality.
Shifter was short and precise!
Right next to the BRZ was an Atom
First time checking it out real close
Loved the simplicity of the footbox
Spaceship decided it was time to go back to Uranus
Rare Imola NSX
I was really happy to run into this Ultima Can-Am, as it's been one of my favorite cars for quite some time.
Can't believe these things are street legal
I could only tell this was a Porsche from the wheels
We left C&C and headed up to Long Beach to watch Formula D. On our way up we hooked up with Blue Batman and FuryNSX for a little bit.
Ended up hanging out with some of the Ksport guys, who turned out to be super cool and hilarious people.
The event overall was pretty packed which I thought was good.
Cool seeing a RWB car in person
Really liked this color scheme and nicely done paint
Really liked this RL, especially since it's such a rare chassis to be modded
Loved this CRX
This STi is local to me, seen him a couple of times driving around my area
VIP Prelude, not entirely my thing but I talked to the owner and he's a really cool guy. I think the car is well executed.
Creeper shots of the Falken models
Final 2 were Dai Yoshihara and Justin Pawlak
Pawlak ended up taking #1
Went home exhausted, and the next day we met up with one of the Ksport guys and the guy who runs SparcoUSA for some karting @ K1
It was fun because it's not the normal track I go to, and it's about 30% longer. I did pretty well, got 2nd fastest time of the group. Sparco guy is fast!
