Need 02+ owner help with 02+ NSX changes by model year update

Isn't the rear sway bar different?
 
Interior Changes… I’m sure I don’t’ have them all but I’ll edit this post as the corrections come in… I don't know when the dash changed but I think it was either 2000 or 2002...

1993
- Passenger Airbag added
- Smaller Glove Compartment
- Split dual compartment arm rest
- Rear center bulkhead changed to accommodate new arm rest

1994
- aluminum NSX DOHC badge on arm rest removed

1995
- Map lights move to the rear due to targa top

1997
- Updated 6 speed emblem replaced 5 speed emblem below shifter
- Ignition switch light removed

2000
- perforated door side leather panels replaces wrinkle leather panels
- Perforated leather added to side pieces of parking brake
- Perforated leather added to side pieces of steering wheel
- Perforated leather door grips
- Perforated leather added to seat cushion and lower / upper back (not headrest)

2002
- 2 tone leather on parking brake (gray leather strip on top)
- 2 tone leather on shift knob (gray leather strip over top)
- Parking brake button now a flat silver rather than chrome finish
- Door handles painted silver / light gun metal (lighter color than trim pieces)
- (center console, door trim) now a silver / light gun metal color
- White stitching (Dash, steering wheel, doors, shift boot, console)
- Updated 6 speed emblem (sharper edges)
- Updated leather shift boot

2004
- passenger door lock button on handle removed
- updated shift knob



1992 1995 Type R
- Custom Momo steering wheel with red stitching, yellow momo logo, 9 holes for proper horn ring mounting
- Horn button with Red H and silver background
- Red stitching (Dash, Steering wheel, doors, shift boot, console)
- Passenger air bag removed
- Titanium sculpted shift knob
- Radio and all speakers removed
- AC Button blanked out on CCU
- CF radio delete panel on center console
- CF door trim and centre console
- JDM buttons all blank (coin holder area)
- Recaro Kevlar seats with Red Alcantara (Black optional) with auto sliding rails (not 100% sure they were auto in 91 - 95)
- NSX DOHC badge removed

1999 Zanardi
- 1992 – 1995 Type R shift knob
- Red stitching (Dash, Steering wheel, doors, shift boot, console, same as 1992 – 1995 Type R)
- Metal plaque indicating limited edition number on rear bulkhead
- Perforated Suede like Alcantara seat cushion and lower / upper back (not headrest)
- Perforated door side leather panels replaces wrinkle leather (same as 2000)
- Perforated leather added to parking brake (top and sides)
- Perforated leather added to side pieces of steering wheel (same as 2000)
- Door grips remain unchanged (no perforated leather)

2002 – 2005 Type R
- Updated Type R shift knob, ball type with yellow shift pattern etching
- Mesh fabric replaces leather shift boot (CF overlay where shift badge normally sits)
- Updated Type R horn button (slight blue tint)
- Lightweight rubber dash with black stitching
- Lightweight rubber door panels
- Non perforated lightweight rubber used on door side panels instead of perforated leather
- Door handles remain unpainted and black (same as 1991 – 1999)
- Perforated leather door grips (same as 2000)
- Perforated side parking brake pieces (Same as 2000)
- (center console, door trim) now a silver / light gun metal color (same as 2002)
- Small CF overlay added to door trim pieces (lower portion)
- CF radio delete panel on center console
- Black Mesh B pillars
- Lightweight black mesh roof and sun visors
- Mirror adjust removed
- Red interior carpet
- Recaro seats (same as 1992 – 1995 Type R)
- Aluminum pedals with round rubber grips
- Retains single compartment arm rest without NSX DOHC badge
 
Forgot about the white stitching - it really does add a classy, handmade look. :smile:

I think in summary, Ferris said it best:

All NSXs are great but the 02+s "...are so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

Yeah ,but I used a crayon to do the same to my 91 and still have the same car for $50k less:eek:
