Need help with MS Word

This probably sounds dumb, but how do you type a word in a Word document and then have a line going through it like you are striking the word out? I've seen it done. Even on here, but I can't figure out how to do it in Word. Any help? Thanks in advance.

You have to go to Format - Fonts and click the check box for "strikethough"
