New battery...oem or aftermarket?

I read the faq, but there was little info about batteries. Just curious to hear some experiences with battery changes.
Cost for OEM vs. aftermarket batteries?
Any batteries to avoid?
Do it myself or have the dealership do it when I get my oil changed?
