Newbie: Advise re buying used NSX

I’ve been looking at the Z06 and the new 911 C2. They both leave me cold for various
reasons, and I’d like to investigate the NSX. At this point I’d like to buy a used, non-T-top NSX
and am considering havig a supercharger installed to add some power. Here in Milwaukee we have a
fine Acura dealership with a service department that is well versed with the NSX and it’s
related upgrades.
Would anyone give me advice regarding used NSX’s; ie. what years to look for, upgrades, etc. Your ideas arevery much appreciated.

what didn't you like about the 996 and zo6? I also looked at these but ended up with an NSX, but now I guess my opinion could be considered biased

there are a lot of used NSX's for sale, many can be found in these 2 locations:

If you happen to find one you are interested in for sale outside your area, often times members will check it out for you. eBay has quite a few for sale, but use caution.....

You may want to look into a '97 or later, since most of the significant changes were made in '97 including a 6 spd and larger engine. However, it will be more difficult (not impossible) to find a non-t. You may want to look into a Zanardi edition?

Curious also why you aren't interested in a t? There is somewhat of an ongoing debate on the forum about chassis rigidity in t vs. coupe. One of our more track experienced forum participants recently experienced my 98 "t" on Laguna Seca and expressed no feeling of flex, so if this is the reason I would encourage you to drive one and decide for yourself.

Z06:felt clumsy in town, insecure of quality,feels large.
996: rev limiter comes on too quick, ergonomics of right hand placement not to my liking, steering feels light at speed.
as to t-top- the ones I've tried sqeeked. Those that dont't have the potential to. I'm not interested in open top, anyway.
The NSX specialist suggested 5-speed with
Euro gearing.
Now I have to research the best year to look for.

Euro gearing is the same as US gearing for all model years. He probably meant Japanese gearing. See http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Performance/gears.htm
