NSX Price is Right!

$88,888 ...It's the attack of the Snowmen!

I think it's stupid that they are even calling this car an NSX. It's clearly just an attempt to exploit the image of the original. Aside from being mid engine this new model is nothing like the first gen NSX. It doesn't look anything like it.

I disagree. Show me one car from 1991 and then the current version that still looks the same:

vs.

$152,397.26.....

Logic $89,000.00 / 292 HP = $304.79 per HP

500HP x $304.79 = $152,397.26

I will be very happy to be wrong...

I think you guys are mostly dreaming with these low prices...

Audi R8 V8 Version starts at ~$145K + options.
The new R8 V10 GT has an MSRP at $196K.

This new NSX is supposed to have all this dual motor electric hybrid garbage, but other than that it looks like it will be an R8 clone. Squint at the clay model, I can barely tell it apart from the R8. Obviously, building a 1st generation car at that level and then adding the extra complexities of the hybrid and dual motor system is going to cost more than the run-of-the-mill V8 version of the R8.

Remember the 918 hybrid Porsche is coming next year, priced at at ~$800K. Any that's basically a hybrid version of the $450K Carrera GT. It has pretty much exactly the technology honda is promising (electric drive front wheels + main motor in back). And we expect honda to deliver it for 1/8th the price? That's just not going to happen.

Last time they brought out a halo car, it was selling for approximately 3x what their next most expensive car was. The RL with even basic options is now over $50K. Now factor all the not-really-invented-yet technology that the poor engineers at Honda will have to get done in less than 24 months. Just because the CEO woke up one morning and said "yeah our cars are boring and the media is slamming us for the crappy 2012 models, well now I'm going to promise the moon so get back there and make it work".

Even if honda can deliver on their promised supercar hybrid technology (wait and see) it surely won't come cheap. I bet the execs just figured spend a few million on these vapourware commercials to hype the brand, and kick the can down the road for a few years. Twice now they've pulled the plug at the last minute on an NSX replacement citing "poor market conditions".

You can put me down on the list at $179,995 for the US market MSRP, if they actually get it to market.

My post was missed too. So I'll change my guess to "the Billy Mays". The cost will $19.95 plus shipping and handling.

Eddie and Vegas your posts weren't missed- you guys guessed numbers already picked! :D Haven't you seen the price is right? You can always say 135,001 ...

they had a hard time selling them for $89K in a good economy.....

I'll say no higher then $97,999 if they want to compete...

considering what the Vettes and GTR's are going for....

“Like the first NSX, we will again express high performance through engineering efficiency,” added Ito, who led the development of Acura’s first NSX supercar. “In this new era, even as we focus on the fun to drive spirit of the 2013 Acura NSX, I think a supercar must respond positively to environmental responsibilities.” Meanwhile, the 2013 Acura NSX price will be started from $32,895 – $37,995.

Well for that price, I'll take three of them. Ah what the hell, make it four.
