i was driving on the way to my friend's house ( laguna blvd, no car, midnight )..there was a white 350 Z keeping pushing me at my back... he suddenly passed me and go in front of my car drive very slow... then...he pull up speed.. so..i believed that he tried to race with me...so..i followed...

when i was in 2nd gear.. i can follow and push him very easy.... after 3rd i still felt i could smoke him easy.... so i passed him on a slightly right in 4th gear (135) ......i kept him follow arroung 2 cars length away....

if i remember it right??!!!..... 350 Z is a very high performance car... 1/4 mile under 14 second and 0 ~ 60 under 6 second...??!!!!!

it should be just about the same with our Xs...
but...i didn't feel it when i race with it... i met 350 Z twice.. and they were the one tried to race.... but... i smoke them away

i have only air filter and exhaust modified...never dynoed...

anyone knows about the spec of 350 Z ???

AFAIK, the 350Z has about the same power as the NSX but weighs quite a lot more. Last (Dutch) article I read of a shootout between several cars including the 350Z put the Z in the first place. However, I recall the 0-160 kph time (0-100mph) was around 16 seconds. When I tested my own car a while back with the AP22 my time for 0-100mph was 12.14 seconds. So you should not have any problem with a standard 350Z in my opinion.

I drove the 350 for a short test drive. It had good power, lots of torque. The interior quality is sub-par though.

See the attached 350Z tech spec:

http://www.nissanzcar.co.uk/uk/350Z/launch/downloads/specs.pdf

which quotes 280PS which is exactly the same as Honda UK quote for the NSX 3.2, although the torque figure is quoted at 363nm at 4,800rpm compared with a quoted 298nm at 5,300rpm for the 3.2 NSX.

I can't find an accurate kerb weight for the 350Z. I've seen numbers quoted from 1453kg to 1485kg to 1545kg - all for the Coupe not the roadster. The 3.2 Coupe is quoted by Honda UK at 1445kg.

On the face of it not a lot in it but I'd expect the NSX to romp away at 100 mph plus.

Motor Trend did a test and a 350Z had problems besting the s2000, let alone the NSX, (which was not tested.) The NSX will smoke it so easy, it's not even fun. Like I said, beside your 996tt, zo6 and 360 Modena, bringeverything else (stock) and we can race for some money.

This link gives you the comparison test between the S2000, 350Z Roadster, BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster and Audi TT.

On the subject of weight I reckon that the 350Z Coupe is coming in at about 1455kg.

Just because the subject has always bugged me I've just driven my 3.2 Coupe to my local public weighbridge. I filled it to the brim with fuel and without me in it it weighed 1370kg. This seems to tie in with the handbook for my car which shows the weight as between 1375kg and 1430kg - I imagine the latter is the NSX-T.

Either way its clear that the NSX is appreciably lighter than the 350Z.

there is a video of a 350Z going around a track with a SKYLINE GT-R chasing it from behind just to get the fotage

http://www.racingflix.com/getvideo.asp?v=471&p=3

anyway, on the last lap, the GT-R owner slams it and he just vanishes from the 350Z'z sight

now the GT-R is close in performance with the NSX. So wether its a strait line, or a track or even shear driving pleasure the 350Z is not in the leage of the NSX.

i totally agree. the 350z shouldn't be compared to the nsx. as others said, motor trend did a test between the s2k and 350, the winner was the s2k.

1/4 time for 350z was barely low 14.

i've read that nissan forums are saying the new z is somewhat of a disappointment, there are many ups and downs to the car, like every car..

The 350Z can't get no respect -- perhaps it dosen't deserve any:eek:

as a sport car, i feel that 350 Z is good... modern look, high performance... it just didn't as good as i thought....
that is 2003 made... mine is 1992 made....
our Xs are designed for winding road...so...
i thought i should be smoked......but..... @#$% .....

I did say that the 350Z is not in the leage of the NSX

but that doesnt make it bad

hell for 27,000 dollars, its one hell of a bargin

and did you see it in person, its a stuner ( no NSX but still a stuner)

id buy it just to fire the crape out of it andnot feel guilty about it because its just a mass produced car. If you trash it, just through it away and get another one.

and I cant wait until the pricees on them come tumbaling down 4 years or so from now. Then you realy get to play

the NSX, its more like a diamond inesment. a well maintained NSX will never drope below 30,000 regardless of its model year. Thats what being built by exotic material and exotic design is all about

dont listn to what EDMUNDS have to say, they are more concerned with family cars, they know nothing about sports cars. you might as well ask your grandmother about a Ferraris

EDMUNDS even made a comparison between a bunch of cars including the NSX and corvette C5 ( not the Z06)

they choose the C5 because it was more bang for the buck ?

I told you, think family !!

Having owned both I can tell you that it is hard to compare the two. I am a Z lover but after having it for a year I sold it and bought another X. I can also say if my X is not faster it sure feels faster, but for the money the new Z is a great car.
