I have a problem with starting my car sometimes. When I turn the key, the engine is crancking but it dosen't start. I need to go outside and lock the car and then open it again. After I do this the car usally starts. The car has the factory alarm system. Could it be a problem with the anti theft system..?

I know that the ignition switch has been changed before in the car, but maybe this is the problem again..? Or maybe just a relay is the problem..
My car is a 92 model, european model

If the problem was related to the security system is would not turn over. Main relay replacment would be a good thing to try to solve the problem.

Thanks for the info, I took the main relay out of the car and opened it. There was one soldering that was a bit strange... I re-soldered it and replaced in the car. The car started fine, but only time will show if this was the problem.
