what does everyone do about replacement lower ball joints ? i have been searching for replacements and can't find any and don't want to buy the whole assembly from acura at $430 .any suggestions

ok thanks . but what about new ball joints they are removable ,does anyone know what other car might cross over?

5 year bump on this thread, because I have the same question.

I see that the lower rear ball joints on the hub (upright) have a snap ring that suggests they are removable, but what about the upper rears that are attached to the upper A-arms?
Since I have the whole rear subframe out, I would like to replace all 4..........it'll never be this easy again once back on the car.

The joints in the control arms are a thermal press fit. Most common methods of removal will damage or deform the aluminum arm, which is why Honda tells you to replace the entire assembly. There is a guy in California named Steve Ghent who has figured out how to replace all of the ball joints on the car. I would suggest contacting him and sending him your suspension pieces. His prices are reasonable and the new joints are very high quality. Steve is who i will go to when mine enevtually fail.

Thanks, I searched his name and found that Steve is 'SMGNSX' here on Prime.

Much appreciated!

Update on this thread.............

I sent my rear hubs to Steve Ghent to have him replace the lower ball joints, and just received them back.

They look fantastic, so if anyone else needs ball joints to be replaced check with Steve as I think he's got us NSX'ers covered.

Hello. Do you have Steve Ghent's contact number? Thank you.

Hello. Do you have Steve Ghent's contact number? Thank you.
It's an old email address (2009) so I'm not sure it will work, but here it is sanitized for the forum:

NSX4track (at) aol.com

Also, I'm sure Shad at Driving Ambition can help you get in contact with him too, since he prepped Steve's NSX race car.
