So I came home and heard a whirring sound from the engine bay. The sound was the same with the AC On or Off. Quick search of NSX prime suggested it could be associated with any of the shafts driven by the alt or AC belts. And most likely it would be the tensioner pulley.

So I removed the alt belt and restarted the car whiring sounds still there not sure if it changed at all. So pulled the AC belt and the sound went away.

So now for the questions....

Would like to know what is a good diagnostic check for the tensioner pulley and the AC pulley?

At present though I suspect the noise is from the belts them selves or rather what appears to be minerals/silicate trapped and embedded in the belts. Has anyone come across this before?
