Ok its been a few months now searching for an nsx and it could be many more to come, so i thought i would start a thread where we (meaning you guys) can explain how long the wait was and how you eventually acquired your nsx, how you killed time in-between, what was involved and why you picked that particular one over the others, unless you got a Manuel variant in which case it was probably the only one available.

So go for it guys, post up the story that brought you and your beloved nsx together =)

G'day Brendan,

I'm pleased to hear that you are still on the hunt. There is an auto on ebay at the moment, but the manuals seem to continue to be scarce.

As you know, I looked for 18-months, possibly even two years before I purchased mine. I was also intent on getting a manual and in fact almost got lured into a very nice red auto in Sydney in desperation before I found the car that I ultimately purchased.

Be patient and keep looking, sooner or later I have no doubt you will realise your dream. The good news is, it's worth the wait.

All the best,

David

I must of got lucky, I found my manual in under a day and drove it down to melbourne from Queensland and had it in my garage 24 hrs later.
then My local mechanic found me genuine nsxr short ratio box,Arc titanium exhaust and Volk Racing wheels all at avery cheap price. What are the odds of that!!!

Damn funky you got lucky that for sure, i would imagine thats a are feat, good on you though and those mods as well?? when i get an nsx i want there no. lol

Yeah dave still on the hunt, you and your nsx did a ripper job winning me over, and i dont say that lightly i have a huge love for the s2000 still and always turn my head when i see an m3, in fact its like bmw is trying to persuade me, there is a perfect example on car sales atm with low k's and great price, not to mention i had to drop off an x5 at a bmw specialist 2 days ago and they had 3 or so e46 m3's there, but ill be strong.

As far as auto's go they dont tempt me in the slightest, but im prepared to go anywhere in aus to get one.

btw, heres a funny one, check carsales there is an nsx on there for $19,000.00 manual '97' model, and that price is not a typo, check it out.

Cheap spares, if anything ever went wrong with them!!! Unfortunately it can't be registered in Australia, so possibly a good car for Targa Tassie or something like that.

Nothing wrong with these cheap spares. ran them in the car for 2 years now. That silver nsx is an amazing buy, if not just for parts.

Hi Funkynsx, you might have misinterpreted what I was saying. I was also suggesting the silver NSX on carsales was cheap spares, not the ones you put in your car!

All the best,

David

Ah yes,
sorry David
I would buy it if i hadnt over committed myself recently.
I dont think you will see a nsx with 68,000 km's on it for $18,900 again.
even if you cant drive it on the road (leagally:smile:).
Imagine in 20 years how rare and expensive parts will be for the nsx.
Thats why i've got two engines two gearboxes and will keep collecting patrts for the next year.
so anyone who thinks the same and can afford that silver nsx they should buy it. It's worth alot more in parts than the car itself.
cheers Ben

Brendan19,

If u update ur location I can do a quick search for u.

What do you mean? im located in vic not that it matters ill go anywhere in oz to get one.

@ funky, yes there are to man trans nsx's but one has more k's than i would like (not to mention its overpriced) , and the other is the silver non registrable one.

Unfortunately, if it cant be registered it cant be used for any road rally event. Targa requires cars to be road registered. There are transport stages as well as the special stages.

It is a cheap price! But it isn't a '97 either. '91 or '92 by the interior.

Brendan,

I noticed the red manual in WA has vanished from Carsales, did you have anything to do with that? That being said, they go on and off every now and then!

All the best,

David
