Greetings,

So Im basically using the hibernation period (the next six months or so) as an 'improvement' period for the NSX. I purchased it last month. The current shock/strut setup (wheels are also stock) is from the factory and the car has over 100k miles. Time to upgrade.

Im looking to change them along with some new shoes and brakes maybe. Im not looking to build this car for track use but I am looking to drop it a couple inches with a 17/18 (havent decided on wheels yet) setup. I know I want coil overs but do the experts/seasoned owners here have any suggestions? Vendors/brands are all welcome please.

This is what I know about her so far suspension related:
- SoS adjustable anti-roll bars (seems its the only suspension upgrade the previous owner has made to date, I havent poked around underneath yet)

I live in the Chicagoland area so any decent INDY shop recommendations are also welcomed.

Ultimately the goal is to have a subtle cosmetic upgrade, improve the handling some and be able to still enjoy the drive where shes not bouncing around all over. She will probably never see track time FWIW.

I saw some good info here: https://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Suspension

Just looking for suggestions from some of you now. Thank you

what is your budget?

Honestly, the Bilstein dampers and your current springs are a great inexpensive option if you can live with the max 1.25" drop. You said you wanted to lower it a couple of inches though so it may not be enough for you.

The 1.25" drop is a great compromise for street use. If you're planning on lowering it 2" then be prepared to scrape occasionally.

I'll say that my advice back then in that thread still holds true today.

If I were you, I would save up and get the KWV3's (ours have never been noisy, BTW ;-) and do the other stuff later.

Drop the car 1-2" max, get it aligned and keep the smaller wheels....they feel so much lighter and make the car feel so much more "sporty" than going with 17/18's or whatever (been there, done that!)

Great advise...Ill use the leads here and go from there....
sca037 i need some new shoes man....stocks are nice and TBH i probably wouldve kept it as is if they were 17's from the factory...

Simplest and cost effective route is Bilstein struts on the lower perch with the OEM springs. ~ $500-$800
Next up would be a budget coilover setup of BC Coilovers or Fortune Auto ~$1000 - $1200
Above those are the well reviewed KW Variant 3 (aka KWv3) coilovers ~$2000-$2500. I have these and love them.
Above that is Moton, JRZ, and JIC which can cost well into the $4k- $7k range.

So Ive decided to go with the KW's that come so highly recommended here. I have a few questions...
Hass linked a Walmart one that comes up significantly cheaper then the other vendors? Are they they same part numbers? Im not getting one on SOS. They are asking for almost $700 more.

Thanks you all for the advise again!

Manufacturers part number on Walmart.com matches KW website. Part #: 35250022 SOS rarely puts OEM part numbers on their website.

SOS prices are significantly higher than other vendors, in this situation $250 higher than manufacturers website.
