The VP Debate

First issue: Qualifications
Palin's unqualified. That's it. That's the answer. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. There's no gray area. There's no learning on the job. There's no folksie response that'll change this fact.
Second issue: Performance
She did well defending her job in Alaska. And she did well not messing up. Yeah! She didn't mess up! There's something terribly wrong about being happy about the VP canidate not screwing up. Man, why didn't she just say "Dred Scott" to Couric. No one agrees with Dred Scott.
Third issue: Effect
This is my favorite part. There doesn't seem to be any effect. Obama's still slowly increasing his lead and conservatives are still jumping ship and I keep smiling.

What makes Obama qualified again? His long standing in the Senate? His long list of legislation that he's passed?

Can you name an Obama Senate accomplishment?

The most freaken worthless debate! The moderator did not even press for questions, if it was Hillary on the ticket, she'll be scrutinized much more than Palin. Why is she getting the queen treatment? I honestly felt we deserve a bit more than this...

I agree 100%, If this was Hillary on the ticket all hell would have broken loose. Everyone would have wanted the republican candidate, to try and make her look very bad (if that was possible)
Why does this woman get a pass or special treatment? Is it because she is not up to par?

Again, please recall that the first two years of Obama's senate career was in a Republican House/ Republican Senate/ Republican Presidency. The Republicans were so power drunk/toxic (remember Bush's mandate?), they were even considering revising cloture to a simple majority, down from 60 to 50, to circumvent the only tool the Democrats had left-a filibuster. By the time the Democrats had taken over and held sway over the Senate committees, Obama had already launched his presidential campaign. Not making any time line excuses here, just analyzing his time in the Senate when it wasn't easy being a Democrat.

Regards,

Danny

It's a joke Jimbo. I see democrats claiming how inexperienced and unqualified Palin is and I don't see how they look at themselves in the mirror with a straight face. If you want to say she's inexperienced, go for it, the argument could be made. But you sure as hell better not be wearing an Obama t-shirt, because you my friend, would be a hypocrite.

Guys, did the candidates know the questions before hand? I ask because Biden answered so quickly,he almost finished the statements of the moderator.Did'nt that seem strange:confused: Danny et al,I'm sure if you go down to your local business assoc office you will find many small manufacturing companies that do survive right here in the us.Many states and counties provide local koz(tax exempt) zones to stimulate new businesses to stay.On another note with this whole Dem -blaiming the George W regime and republicans for the financial mess visa vi deregulation...was'nt fannie and fredi run and controlled by Dems, some of which made out quite nicely:confused: On the notion of Palins' intelect well I'm not impressed with her breath of knowledge, but from her background I don't expect anything more, she was asked to do something, and we are all watching the evolution. One of the "smartest" presidents was good ol Jimmy Carter, what legacy did "book" knowledge and an analytical mind get him?

Here's a great list of Biden Lies ignored by the media

Biden's Lies, Ignored by Media

POLITICS | Fri, Oct 3, 2008 at 3:17:38 pm PST

We’ve posted five articles now about serious mistakes and/or outright lies in Joe Biden’s performance last night—but if you read what the mainstream media have written about the debate, you won’t find a single one of these falsehoods.

Joe Biden practically voted against anything Republican wrote bills. Even Desert Storm when we had the approval of the world. BTW, I have never seen a person who can go on national TV and lie with a straight face other Obama regarding the issues.

10Blade, you still haven't provide any thing about Obama/Biden's qualification either!!!

I'm still all ears.

Yeah, you know, there you go again, golly-gee. I'm not going to answer you, I'm just going to give America a little straight-talkin from Wasilla. Blah, blah, blah, blah, maverick, blah, blah, blah, ruffled-feathers, blah, blah (wink), blah. And in conclusion, blah, blah, maverick.

God I love that lady.

But Obama claims to be so wonderfully adept at setting aside partisanship, reaching across the aisle and uniting his fellow man for the greater good. . . . What about all that horse crap?

You forget Obama's so charming and convincing, he's gonna have Ahmadinejad fanning him with huge palm leaves and feeding him grapes straight off the vine.

Actually, you know what? That wasn't fair. And to show I'm serious, I'm suspending any further nsxprime contributions until both sides of me come together and solve this crisis! Don't worry America! I'm going to fix this problem that I've created!

No, wait, too many of you were not upset at my suspending contributions bet. So I'm back in the game! Yeah! Now if I could just figure out what I stand for? Is it government? Well I did vote for that bill to bailout Wallstreet, but, to be fair, I only voted for it AFTER all that pork was added. That awful pork. That's the problem with Washington! Nobody stands up and votes NO to pork!

Thank you, that's exact the answer I knew you're going to offer.

Thanks for the senseless babble. I am now dumber for having read it.

Ooh, looks like I struck a nerve. My apologies for the hurt feelings.

No hurt feelings..just a slight queasy dysphoric sensation.

Both parties think they need to come to my rescue when really all I want is a party that will leave me the hell alone.

We’re either going to be socialist wimps or capitalistic pricks. Where is the party of socially liberal/fiscally conservative?

Let me know when you find one. Libertarians have some cool ideas. But if you are a libertarian you are instantly classified as a wacko. I should look into it more.
