Anyone has good suggestion? preferably HD??

just bought a go pro and kind of disappointed with the quality. (not the HD one)

I've been using a trusty Sony DV, but last year, i had the head dirty and lost a valuable footage... and with my laptop running window vista, i had to get the RCA converter for video, it's ok, but would like to have better resolution.

let me know,

what brand and model:

video sample.

ease of down load to computer/uploading to youtube

price

battery life.

Aiptek HD Action GVS - uses SD cards, good battery and most importantly an external mic jack which I ran a long lapel mic to the inside of the trunk. Notice NO wind noise.

Just search the Tack Forum for "video camera" and there a whole bunch of threads.

Aiptek Action HD-GVS. SD card, good battery life, ext mic jack and $164 @ Walmart. Add a Sunpack 0.45 wide angle on the front and a $20 radio shack lapel mic to run to where ever there is no wind noise (in my case the inside of the trunk) and you basically have my setup. Couldn't be happier. BTW: I also tried a friend's $1000 Canon HD in my car and the picture was the same if not worse.

For some reason my wide angle adaptor makes the picture all blurry on the edges. That camera is pretty wide angle without it though.

Hey Captain! Thanks for the recommendation. A good and proven HD video camera for under $200 is a steal. How do you mount it?

Is that called vignetting? The wide angle adapter might be at the wrong focal point. Maybe try to pull it away slightly from your camera to see if it helps.

I need to play with it some more. I Just gorilla taped it to the front of the camera and was disappointed.

I purchased this mount but yet to test it in the car:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000246ST6/ref=oss_product

It works well on a window in the house.

I'm also having problems attaching the large Sunpak .45 wide angle lens to this camera. The lens is just a little too small in diameter to attach the camera and this could be causing your blurring.

I have that mount, works just OK in the car. My Aiptek would vibrate with that mount as I found you had to secure the camera on two planes - bottom and back to make it rock solid.

See my home made mount in other "video camera" threads under the track forum.

I've been messing with it for the past few minutes and I think that's exactly the problem. The wide angle lens is a tiny bit smaller than the camera lens. This is the "Sunpak CAM-2110 MagMount 0.5x Wide-Angle Conversion Lens"

I looked at this double mount solution but decided to try the $25 mount before spending more:

http://www.amazon.com/Delkin-Devices-DDMOUNT-SUCTION-Knuckle-Suction/dp/B0023ZK2TY/ref=pd_cp_p_2

CL65 Captain solution used memory foam that may had made the different.

No, foam - just a DIY and a $6 dual suction cup mount from Harbor Freight. The key is the camera is attached at the bottom and the back with a brace. If you only attach it at the bottom than it shakes back and forth.

Watch my head bouncing up and down in the video above and the picture stays rock solid. ~ btw: I'm running 1000/800 lbs springs. :)
