I reserved a hotel for a trip that i was taking in May. I am not going to be able to go on the trip so i want to cancel the hotel. I purchased trip insurance for $50 bucks and they said it would cover me in case something happened. Now, the hotel refuses to refund my money because i cancelled within 30 days of arrival. The trip insurance co says that it would have to be a death for me to get a refund AND they want a doctors statement. All this seems obsurd for room at a resort. The room was $800 and the insurance was $50. Am I screwed? I'd rather not give away $800!
