Tumbleweeds! Why is this place so quiet?

Long time lurker here and a life long Honda and F1 fan. Used to have a Integra Type R and a track built supercharged S2000. Now in the process of researching the 2nd generation NC1 for a potential purchase. Still on the fence on that.

Wondering why the Canadian forum is so quiet and how come no one posts here? Would love to meet and talk with owners locally.

Do we have meets in the GTA?

Hoping we can make this place more active!

They are all gorging themselves on mead and partridge at Excalibur...

Wondering why that is the case? I am sure we have enough NA1/2 and NC1 owners in Canada or the GTA to bring it back to life? Or am I mistaken?

There are enough people- you guys just have to find your way back here and it will be like the old days. :)

Right down the 401 from T-O in DTW area USA-side (no-go area; border closed but we used to do ESTFest and stuff).
Do miss all of yous.

north york area here, yes, a meet would be nice...

but looking at this thread where half of the replies are from US member, maybe the Canadian are still hibernating... lol

Great, there is one! What do you own alcheng?

Would be nice if we can get a list going of who owns what and where they reside. Just a thought.

Let’s do this. 2019 in Thermal Orange. We need to keep up this Canadian owners forum. Let’s start getting some ideas together for a meet. I think given what’s going on we could all use something to put a real smile on our faces.

100% agree. Lets plan a meet very soon and get all the GTA owners out. I am trying to see who is active on here. So far we have:

bmadnad - '19 Thermal Orange
alcheng - '92 Silver

Anyone else want to throw their name on here and keep this list going?

Hey guys. A number of GTA owners are still around and actively participating in C&C that include 90 mins cruises almost every weekend morning. Just the format of sharing and coordinating activities have changed (not using prime).

My car: 93 Black/Onyx

Check this FB group out. Request and Mod will add you

Like Bram and many others, we love our cars and coffee with cruises. I organize many last year and so far we had three since last weekend of March.

I am from Richmond Hill so selfishly most drives do begin closer to me and on weekend mornings (830-1130) sometime conflict with F1 (sorry). We are due for a west end meet. I usually pick Burlington Williams Coffee (Brant St/Qew) as starting point. Just we got to be more discreet with lock down and cops issuing tickets.

I’ve built a 40+ ppl WhatsApp’s C&C group (unrelated to NSXCC). Send me a PM with your number and I will add you. Mask and covid protocol apply of course. And there is “no” event organizers at any of our meets. We just bumped into each other by chance and decide to go for a drive. That’s our model during lock down.

At this point I haven’t checked with our group to meet this weekend given continue elevated case count. But don’t let me stop you. Only need a few cars and a willing leader to map/lead your drive, and find a meeting place.

I can’t wait to see that Thermal Orange in action. We need more colours in life. Bram will bring this perfectly kept Red NA2. Silver would be great. There is a Imola Orange in Stoney Creek and a Yellow NA2 in Ancaster. Most GTA cars are traditional red, black and few silvers. Got a Purple down by the Bluffs, a NSXR rhd in Toronto, a recent Casino White NC1, Nouvelle Blue NC1 in Toronto. Lots of variety!

PM your cell and we’ll go from there.

Cheers all

Owen

Great to hear from you Neal. When will you cross our border one final time (and stay)? Aren’t you tired of just settling for MGDs and Bud? You’ve tasted the best and now we have a whack of amazing microbrews that will keep you staying here much longer. Just move here already.

Miss your Imola and LBBP! We need you up here soon as the border reopens.

OP,

There are a handful of WhatsApp chatrooms, Facebook groups, and clubs NSX fans north of the boarder can get involved with.

Give the NSX Club of Canada an email: [email protected]
They'll be able to point you in a couple directions to connect with other Canadian owners.

Search Facebook as there are a few pages on there as well specifically for Canadians, and as Owen has said, most of the chatter nowadays is in WhatsApp chatrooms for the regular shop talk banter, probably why it at least appears quiet.

And with COVID lockdown as you can imagine, there have been a lot less formal events planned over the last year, and at this rate, 2021 will be no different.

That's quite a Honda lineup! Enjoy your NC1 search.

Cheers,

Lucas

Thanks man. I have joined a couple of FB groups and look forward to meeting other Canadian owners via the the club as well. Yes, Covid has thrown a massive wrench in planning for car events.

My search for the NC1 is going well, there are tons of 17s popping up for sale nowadays, just have to find the right options, car and price point.

Just saw this post now (and if I’m like most other prime users, is an example of why car forums are a dying breed). I run the FB NSX CDN group. If you’re on FB, ask to join and I’ll let you in. I get a lot of requests from fanbois so I’ve been limiting entry to verified owners only but make a comment in the notes section of the application that you saw my post on Prime and I’ll approve it.

There’s a lot of Canadian owners and activities are there as you can see, we have just moved to other formats. I love Prime though, and at the first lockdown actually made a concerted push to return to this forum but alas…

I'd like to talk to Canadian owners more, as first gen models are pretty much nonexistent in these parts. Won't be happening on bookface however.:numbness:

It seems to me that since the use of social media has increased
Since then, people have stopped coming to the forums

It's much easier to open an app on your phone and scroll through pics than it is to log into a forum and interact with posts. Especially because there hasn't been a good forum>app conversion at all. It's sad because the wealth of knowledge on the forums, not just in the people, but the actual stored data/DIY/etc is slowly going away.

Oh well, you're missing out.

...and just the fact I'm responding to a 3 month old post is evidence enough of the traffic this forum generates.
