Im interested to find out what has lead us to the cars we own.

This is not just for the people in Australia.

My last car was a Porshe Boxster S 98 which was weak as piss with no power

Before that I had a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 1990 4 door which was leathal after the 380 BHP.

Before that was Swift GTI and some other crappy starters!

Whats yours?

I had a BNR 32 - GT-R Nissan, HJ Sandman and an HQ Monaro, not that the last two are sports cars!!!

Give me the NSX anyday. In fact my brother-in-law has a Porsche Boxter and he would swap me at the blink of an eye, not to mention the cost of running the Boxter!

Yeh they tryed to charge me $750 to service my boxter..

Its only a VW for fucks sake hehe

i had an early rx7 with a mad 13b turbo engine. full body kit and heaps of aftermarket mods. would do a 12 second quarter mile. alot faster than the nsx at the moment. (got to address that!) sold it to a mate and now it rots in his backyard.

Mine was a huge upgrade, my previous sports car was a JDM DC2 Type-R with a stupid Spoon exhaust that sounds like a boat.

My first car was a 89 Mustang GT 5.0. That car was a lot of fun when I was 16. My second car was a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. That this was soooo slow and sooo big but very reliable. The car before my NSX was a 91 MR2. I loved that little car it handled very well. The only problem with it was it just didnt have enough power. Sooo looking at the NSX seemed to be the perfect choice. Its a two seater mid engine and has double the power of the MR2. I always say its almost like they took the great aspects of all three previous cars I owned and they came up with my NSX. The power of the mustang, the reliability of the Gran Prix, and the handling of the MR2.

I owned 3 1991 Honda CRX Sis' and I still own one of them that I bought new.
2 Triumph TR6s
1 Triumph GT6
2004 Honda S2000 w/ CTSC

Sporty cars included RSX Type S, several GSR Integras, several 99-2000 Civic Sis', 2004 Civic Si, 2007 Civic Si Coupe. I do not consider these to be sports cars since they have rear seats.

I sold the S2000 so I could buy my 2004 NSX that I have owned since new.

Sounds like you didn't have the "S". My 2002 Boxster S was the best stopping & handling car I've owned - bar none. With 191kW it was virtually line ball with the NSX for power & acceleration ... (0-100 in 5.7). The earlier "S" had 186kW .

I also had a 1993 Porsche 968 Club Sport (3 litres 4 cylinders) which was one of the NSX's arch enemies in the early '90's (check out results of first two Targa Tas in early 90s). Also excellent stopping and handling, but definitely needed more oomph. But NSX is the clear winner here ...

I purchased my first sports car in 1972 ... a Honda Civic that was raced in Bathurst "Class A" by Terry Finnigan. Wow what a machine ... 1,200cc of blueprinted perfection and a top speed 112mph !! At that time a Civic was $2,200 but I paid $2,900 for that hot race-prepped civic, with roll cage, race rubber, racing paint job, exhaust straight out under passenger's door etc. Those were the days ... !

BTW it's spelt Porsche

that bike looks wild ... I'd never heard of them ... one of those "learn something every day" moments. tks

1969 Mini Cooper S completely original
1968 Bolwell Mk7 ( 6 cyl GMH, motor 750kg)
1973 Bolwell Nagari Sports... ( 302cu Windsor V8, 1000 kg).....Still got it
1980 Datsun Skyline with a HUGE NormalAir Garrett turbo built by Frank Lowndes.....very quick in its day
1995 NSX.......brilliant

Also its a small world as 3 of the 20 odd (and I mean that in the nicest way) NSX owners in SA are Bolwell guys.
Also it seems that strange Trials bikes are common too as GT4 and I have the same bikes.....HRC honda powered Montesa trials bikes.
