What would you pay for an NSX with 215k km?

I saw a NSX with over 215k km today, better overall condition than expected. Paint is good, interior too, completely stock with new clutch. Seems no accident. Didn't drive it. Regularly serviced. The car looked more than 100k km than 215k.
What would YOU pay?

I guessed it's an early model, VIN could help finding out if it's in/out snap ring issue, that could play a not to be sneezed at role on pricing.

Remember that you have to look at the gearbox number, NOT at the VIN for snapring. Regardless of that the snapring/gearbox had 215k km time to fail, so if it were in snapring range I don't believe it's still on the car now. :) I would be more concerned about bearings and synchros but after a testdrive you know them.

My fault, you're right. I neither think the car is in that range, still it's worth checking out. The last car I bought had some recalls and one wasn't documented so I could buy the car minus the price for that repair, and it's still running great without the repair.. heh. ;)

Ok, to reveal the secret, the car is up for sale in Switzerland and the price is SFR 25900.- (Not Euro).
Actually I don't like that sort of dealer who sell the car.

That price is ridicilous???? Must be something wrong, don't you think?

Want to reveal the secret of why you don't like that dealer too? :)

Do you mean ridiculosly low? :) I've never seen an NSX with that high mileage for sale here. 215k km is a lot for a car but not for an well maintained NSX. The price is still high because you can find other with 100k km for about 40k SFR. And it's the only one below 30k I've seen for sale in the last few years.
Interested? :)
What I don't like about the dealer? It's one who hasn't an own service station, only a big parking lot. Normally there are only cars there which the official dealers don't want to deal with like crashed cars or some with big issues.
Personally I don't think the car is bad, an exception of the general rule. :D

Yes we really don't see that high milage NSXs around this corner of the world... I also agree, 215.000 km is a lot but there is still a lot more car left in NSX.

Can I be honest with you? I have really headache because I can't decide; 1) I already had one NSX, and wanted to get a NA2 this time, a 1997 NSX-T or something. But they cost about 30.000 euro more after norwegian taxes than 1991 NA1's. I can afford it, but don't know if it's worth it. 2) At the same time, I like the idea of a everyday NSX, a car I could driver everyday and everywhere without thinking about milage. That would be a fair condition early car.

Either way I will be happy, but I don't know yet. I sold my previous car because I needed start money in my new business, but 15th of december I'm ready to buy a new one. If this hasn't been sold until then, I think we will meet in Switzerland and take a testdrive lol

Adeel,
Do it! Do it!

For that money you can have fun with the car. You wouldn’t have to be concerned that you were driving it too much.
Also you wouldn’t worry about modifying it.

If it breaks in a big way you could recoup money from parts.

Is a T really worth all the extra money? Ok the 6 speed is nice and a little more power, but you would worry about the car every time you parked it somewhere…

If I weren’t building a house at the moment, I would be heading to Switzerland too!

Sorry to cause you some sleepless nights. :D:D That was not my intention.:) Shall I buy it and store it for you? :D

I didn't think about that but you're right. :) Parting it out is not a bad idea. Actually I thought about buying this car myself as a daily driver, hihi. But no way I think. I wouldn't need a new number plate because I could use the existing one b'cause both cars are red/identical. :D
I could buy it now and sell it in spring/summer. :)
The car can be found on the web, so (in german) "Such's Balli" (OEM word by my latin-teacher).:D:D:D

My initial intention was more of the kind that the more cars are leaving Switzerland the higher the price of the remaining ones get.:)

Once again I caught you editing your post!:D
Yes it's red, black roof.
I live half an hour away. The airport is about half an hour away too. I've some pics of it but only done at night.
Well, I don't know about the mechanical side of the car. The optical aspect is good, for a car of 215k km very good. There is one ding in the right door, nothing that can't be repaired without painting I think and here and there some fine scratches. pm me if interested.

€16,000 is begging to be reduced to €15,000.

At €16,000, it depends on one thing. Has it been crashed?
If not, it would be a good buy even if the engine was on its last legs. Modification, maybe 3.8 or supercharger material.

If it has been crashed, even then it might still be good. If it was not a bad crash and repaired properly.

I bet it has not been seriously crashed though, repairs are too expensive.

I am only afraid of one thing with my car: a heavy crash.
I would have to try to repair it, and buying a €16,000 car and making one good car from it would be the way to do it.
Plus, if I had one “in stock” I wouldn’t have a crash. I know this from my rallying. When I don’t have another body in stock (old Escorts are hard to find now) I crash big time.
It’s a concrete rule with me. Must be a variation on Murphy’s law…

Anyway, kitchen or reserve NSX? Hummm, difficult choice.

By the way Adeel, my last post was at lunch time. That was 3.5 hours ago, that puts my present position in about the beginning of the Alsace… only 1 more hour and I’m crossing the Swiss border!

HA!
