Where are all the Production deliveries ??

seems like we should be able to get at least one or two new nsx for xpo in Orlando.

Today's update
Production is up to 60 cars
Finished cars are being held at PMC for some unknown reason
Regarding the communication to owners the first year, it will include a call from the NSX specialists, shipment of your model car which is an exact replica to the wheel your car was speced with, and other surprise gifts like the CF money clip.
The weekly meetings are now every other week. The PMC car has not attended the last few (scared of taking the heat?).
I asked for follow up about when useful accessory (Y spoke wheels) prices would be available?
I groused about the dealer who tagged on a $5k charge for Zurich shield, where the paint is supposed to be left alone for 60 days. He had just seen that car and it was sold and the owner let them keep it in the show room. He did confirm the purchaser paid a market adjustment.
Seinfeld's car has been registered. It is a low number but that info was not available.

In retrospect of this topic It does not surprise me that people still are not getting their hands on the car they waited in line for. Especially since mother Honda had a new nsx at last years expo and wouldnt let, "the help" even sit in it. So, it is a rich boy toy, with a blue collar badge, being exclusively presented to rich boys first... (Scratching head) Then the no name people with deep pockets can have it. I really do not get these marketing scemes.
But of well. What's another month or two?

Funny Tesla is always on blast for not delivering their cars on time but nobody has said anything about Acura with the Nsx.

Fun point

here is my take

tesla is a high growth tech company whose disruption target is the auto industry
to support high stock prices, tesla must keep increasing their volume and not have too many quality issues
basically, everything they do is under the microscope

Honda has been around for decades and being a low volume car, the NSX won't move the financial needle
I do hope some analyst calls them on the poor execution on the car

Wonder if latest production is being reassigned to direct owner sales where applicable and away from unsold dealer resales?

I'd say it's a given that Honda have the global resources and expertise to get it right (more so than Tesla), and they'll be doing all in their power to make sure this car works for them. I can understand those waiting impatiently for their new NSX (as I would be), but it's been a unique (for Honda), long-term project that has carried significant financial, technical and engineering challenge. I think it's to be expected that production will initially be cautious, but ramp up once Honda are confident the cars can be built with consistent quality at full production. There's no doubt in my mind, the early adopters are going to be beta testers, which will feed back into production. The best cars will be those produced a year from now.

Honda doesn't have a history of practicing on their customers, so I do hope you're wrong.
Regardless I'd expect Honda will make good any deficiencies discovered from real world driving.
Too much at stake for them not to give this car full corporate support

just found out our car is due to arrive 8/8-8/10!

acura has been very tight lipped about delivery dates. i guess its better to leave people wondering rather than disappointed?

Congrats! That's two of you now with the same delivery estimate so there must be a madness to their method.....

On the beta testing point, what I have been told is that all of the cars must be perfect. A lot of the delay is about the compulsiveness related to quality.

The delivery situation is just madness. Leaving cars in the warehouse while customer wait is utter stupidity.

I have heard at least 10 times that these cars must be absolutely perfect. At this point they do not even have a choice. If they delayed so many cars and there are legit complaints its going to be a tough PR problem to fix.

Between a late car or a perfect car, I'd think the perfect car will soon make the lateness a minor aggravation.
Shipping an imperfect car late will bring unending customer dissatisfaction.
So best to ship a perfect car or no car at all, no?

However shipping a perfect car to Chicago in December after shipping unsold early cars to California doesn't make any sense at all.

Mine is supposed to be the 160th coverage unit.

Since we have no visibility to the number of ex US units built to date or the plan for those going forward guesstimates will be the play.

The latest cars to hit the dealers are 041 and 042. Once someone sees a chassis number for either of these we will have a sense of how many ex US cars have been produced. No way to tell is the ratio will stay the same or shift to more US cars.

I would definitely like Acura to go back to their order book and see which cars were ordered by dealer principals and shift production away from those folks. From what we have seen to date, many of those cars were ordered to play the market adjustment game.

B&B
I Totally AGREE on that last statement.
Gonna be real upset if I get mine just before winter hits ... or worse.
If true I'd prefer to get in early spring so not paying a ton of property taxes on something which is just sitting still in garage vs being enjoyed.
Or am I supposed to look just at it as getting REAL GOOD PAINT CURE while sitting there.

Agree with you completely.

I can understand Acura wanted to get units to all their dealers first for showroom traffic/publicity etc.
And the idea that each unit was "sold" to a dealer principal (or equivalent) sounded good as the plan was to avoid "unsold" units at dealerships.

However implementation of the plan hasn't worked out very well and we now have 13 unsold units on Cars.com,with perhaps more to come.
And those units don't appear to be selling quickly at the asking prices.

I'm guessing the orders at the factory show who the end customer is so it shouldn't be a major job to organize the orders for "real" customers and ship those until the unsold Cars.com units disappear.

And with winter fast approaching at least a third of the NSX market in North America will be gone for 5 or so months.
Why ship unsolds to the sunbelt while customers like Gadgetman are looking at delivery in the snow?

I've heard Honda is not happy about the dealers flipping cars but have no control over what a dealer does with his car(s).
Do you think Honda is contractually committed to delivering to the dealers who have invested in the training and equipment?

Bricks, you seem to have the best connection at the moment.
Is anyone listening to your input?

The reps are solid enthusiasts and definitely listen
One of them went to a few CA dealers to see wtf is going on
He was not happy to hear about funny biz like the Zurich shield being tacked on
Honda has to deliver but with the fluid nature of things I have to believe they can shift which orders get filled when
I was told for example that a VIP request situation could cause a switch in build sequence
The original plan was to focus on getting cars to owners in high profile zip codes so the early cars could be seen on the road wher the money is
Having cars in dealerships is contrary to that intent

Does it make sense to start a sticky thread for cars ordered by folks here and tracking progress, In the coming months, it would be nice to have a single thread/survey/EXCEL showing patterns of production and delivery.
