The General Morale of prime members

Historically... IMHO I'd say it's at an all time low. Not sure if it's since the price point of the car is so down there is a different crowd or what... but I've been a member coming and going with a few different user names dating back to when the NSX community was an email list and not this site.

Working on selling my 4th NSX at prime. Apparently it's proper form now to offer someone half their asking price and then harass and threaten them with text messages and emails telling you to "stop being a little bit¢h and give me your car for XXk" when you had politely turned down their low ball XXk offer b/c it was half the value of your car. Then they proceed to txt you 100 times a day telling you your car isn't anything special... and that the factory paint sucks and the comp tech supercharger is crap and that there are 5 cars out there that are better... like that is going to some how persuade you into giving it to them.

The sense of entitlement blows my mind. Like I owe it to someone to just give them my car... and if I don't I'm a bit¢h... when they're harassing me and calling me names and making fun of the NSX in general. It blows my mind. I mean if you're so down in the NSX why even buy one? If you really think NSxes suck and are money pits... and that there are 5 supercharged wide-bodies out there for sell that are better... buy one of them and leave me alone. It's something that has never happen to me in the past with the 4 cars I've sold here and now suddenly it's half the responses I'm getting.

Glad you got that out, Argon. No one deserves that. If you want to name names it's O K to let them rip. Public service for other present sellers...

It's difficult to sell these types of cars since you have to waste your time with tire kickers and low ballers. When I sell my car, I probably just take my car to the dealer to trade it in for another car than having to deal with these type of buyers.

Some one offering a low ball price doesnt even deserve a reply or a second thought. Let the moron talk to himself! Seems to me there is always a small percentage of prospective? buyers that really do want something for nothing. Of course the reason is they can flip it in a day for a $10,000 dollar profit. They will just keep at it until someone gives in and cuts them a ridiculously low price. I really feel sorry for someone that succumbs to there B.S. When selling any item, hold firm to your price. A sale can take a long time, but the longer you wait the more you will get. I will generally pay asking price, (I paid exactly what the guy was asking for my NSX), Hay, and you know what? he completely surprised me by putting brand new rear tires on the day I bought the car. Sweet. And I thanked him several times. If an asking price is a bit too high for me, I politely ask, So what is your bottom line on this? Is there any wiggle room? I dont think any one is offended, and each party can sit back and chew on it a while. If you want to reply to a low ball just say I have been offered way more than that. Or maybe " If thats all you got I know where there is a nice CIVIC for sale"

How can morale be down when we drive one of the coolest cars ever created, and are on the best forum on the internet?:biggrin:

I have to chime in on this one! Phoen$x is right - you all do drive one of the coolest cars ever created and this really is the best forum I've ever been a part of as well.

You can drive a lot of cars out there and I have been trying my best to do that but you wpn't find one that is any cooler than the NSX. It is a super car - it sounds truly amazing, just listen to any racing video. It is a race car almost for the street. As close as I've ever come to one anyway and most likely ever will.

I've always thought of this forum as a family. Everyone gets along, even if there is an occassional squable it's no different than the squables in a family really. Just full of the best commradery out there.

I'm going to have to get another NSX someday!

Sounds like you need the app "mr number" it willautomatically block any #, and not allow them to text or leave messages. It will dump their call without going to voice mail. It's great. I used it after that threesome with your 2 sisters, they wouldn't leave me alone!

All I have to say about these "issues" with selling or buying is that it sounds like a personal problem. I don't really understand airing those issues publicly. To me a deal that goes bad should just be discarded and let it go. We as the Prime family seem to get sucked in to these private issues. No one was hurt, nobody's car was stolen, it was all conversation and a bunch of bs. Sounds like there were issues on both sides and it's not something we as members should be sucked in on. Keep you private issues and sales problems to yourself and deal with it or don't deal with it but why does anyone think we can be impartial with listening to one side of the argument. Why do we need to be consumed with this kind of bs that should be kept private. We are all adults here - no one needs to allow anyone to come over and take their car apart. No one needs to sell a car to anyone they don't feel comfy with. Deal with it.

Geez, let the rest of us enjoy relishing in the fact that these cars are great and Prime is a great resource. You don't like someone bothering you about your car let em know straight up and fugetaboudit....I'm doing my best to forget about it I assure you.

This thread was about other things anyway ----in my humble opinion.

Adios - and Prime is great and the NSX will live forever! All the best compadres....

That's one of the "holy grails"! But if not I'll be happy with a 2002 - 2005. I actually like the idea of a targa. But if I can afford it a Zanardi would be nice! Just wish they'd made the Zanardi in more color combos...!!!

Maybe mine is getting a little old! :D HA! As I said before...I might replace mine....but don't think I'll sell it. Taking it into Woodfield tomorrow for my 7 year servicing.

Please dont do that :)

I'll never sell mine because I can't stand dealing with all of these exact issues everyone is describing
