8 Hours? I guess for a first timer, me, at the track is a lot of driving. I bet I will be exhausted at the end of the day.

I don't know if my brakes can handle all that hours? I guess I better upgrade my NA1 to NA2 spec, with bigger bracket , rotors, and some SS lines. Oh, and my ABS sucks too.

no one is forcing you to stay out for all 8 hours, this isn't the "8 hours of Spring Mountain Endurance Race".

Few drivers will be out for even 4 hours total during the day. Once you lose 99.99% focus you are not safe to yourself or anyone else and need a break. Even the Great and Mighty COZ needs to come in to take a P break every 2 hours or so.

There will be no timing of any laps by anyone at any time for any reason during the May 7th event both for safety as well as insurance reasons. Since the track will not be completely clear of "traffic" at any time during the day except when the track is closed for the lunch break Time Attack style lapping will not be possible or allowed.

Overaggressive driving will get you shown the door regardless of your membership status at SM.

If you guys can't control your testosterone please stay home or put on your own event. You can always call it the Nils Invitational Demo Derby.

LOL, Right.....
I 'm as old as you are MJ.
I'll need a nap at some point during the day, maybe two.

Re: SEBRING TRACK EVENT JAN 22-23rd 2011

HI
I am a "Track Virgin" and need answers:
I heard this weekend at SEBRING is open to all. Is that true?
Can I just use my motorcycle helmet or do I need a specific helmet?

What about insurance??
Does anyone have insurance for this?? My State Farm Ins told me they won't cover Track events.
So what do I just have the car towed off the track down the road to make ins claim??
Hahahhahaa
Lastly I need new tires...what does anyone recomend? I am leaning towards FALKENS.

Thanks in advance!

You might want to ask those questions to whomever is putting on the event at Sebring.

Coz, if you still plan on going and have spare room, I think im gonna take my vacation then and would love to tag along and let the NSX stretch its legs a bit!

Is this NSX only? (EDIT Just read it is open to all!)

You bet Ravi, I'm going.
I have use of an enclosed trailer to take, so I'll have plenty of room for your tires and anything else you need to bring.

I'm planning on going up the day before, when are you planning on leaving ?

:-)...There's already a mix of other cars registered. 12 more should be to be added to the list any day.

bah i have to wait to register, i hope it doesn't fill up before i get paid!

i will probably take 5 days off so exit date wont matter.

I'll make sure you have a spot.
I'm headed for San Diego tomorrow and will be there until my NSX is done, probably a week anyway. Either way I will see you at PIR Feb. 6-7th. Tage informed me I have a student that weekend.

I'm glad your going, we'll have some fun and not be working.
Most people will stay at the Saddle West in Pahrump. You might want to make a reservation, they tend to fill up fast on the weekends.
I want to get there Friday afternoon. I plan on heading back Sunday morning. I'll either stay in the RV at the track with Nick, or get a room at the Saddle West if Nick doesn't go. Chances are Nick will be going and driving the Radical.

This is a real nice track. I participated in the NSEXPO HPDE as a novice and even though I blew my auto tans on the second day, I still had a blast.

Since I was a newbie I was very confused during the first two sessions. However, once I learned the track and what my car could do, the experience was great! Even after loosing third gear, I still wanted to continue, it was that much fun.

Have fun guys,

Mario

Track Event Hotel Info

The Saddle West has us set up for 15 rooms on May 6th; "standard" with 2 queens or 1 king - $68.00, Deluxe $78.00.

I'm not sure what you get for that extra $10 - I'm too cheap to find out.

Use the code M678911 or Dali Racing to get the price.

1-800-433-3987

The rooms will be held until April 22 so please book prior to that.

here is incar of the new 3.4 configuration... its the 3.1 plus the new kinks at end of track. This is a real fun config with the NSX.

A local shop has taken 12 spots, so we are up to 27 cars registered. You might jump off the fence before the event is closed out if you really want to go, there will be no "day of" registrations as the # of cars is limited to make sure everyone has plenty of space at the track..

another good spot to stay at is the silverton casino... right by blue diamond & I15... got nice rooms, is not on the strip, can park trailers there and is about 40 minutes away from track.

Lance, there is 12 spots left for the track event itself, don't know about the hotel.

Do you still have some open places for the big open track day?
