nsx engine swap question

how do you possibly think you are going to get a 2jz to fit?

not only is that motor SUPER heavy but it is SUPER tall?
(exactly the reasons I chose to NOT use it in my RX7)

here you go.... this 2jz swap might be something you could do (and it even has nas!)

hmm i wonder if they guys who swapped LSX's into RX-7's, or the guys who swapped the V8's into the Fiero or Porsche 914 had to listen to as much bullshit as you guys. or the 454 into the toyota landcruiser.

apparantly, no one here had a mommy who taught them to keep snide remarks, sarcasm and non-constructive criticism to themselves.

ahh well. carry on. I'm sure glad not every one around here is a sheep.

Here is a semi serious discussion of the possibility of transplanting a K20A engine into the NSX.

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1884859

If you have a shell with no NSX motor/trans, a boosted K20a might be a feasable option if you have extensive experience fabricating, and you had a full RSX Type-S donor car available. Lighter, more power, and everything might just line up somewhere in the ballpark that would allow it to fit in the engine bay without cutting up the frame.

For those who roll their eyes, remember Toyota ran their JGTC cars with the older and lighter 4 cylinder 3SGTE motor over the heavier 2JZ because they could get the same power with weight savings (and better distribution).

Eventually, somebody will do it.

ill pass on the k20.

build many of these and would rather keep the torque of a boosted 6 over that of a 4.

love the 3sgte in a supra tho... i think top secret did it.

pretty awesome.

instead of the 3sgte pushing a 3500lb supra... if it was only in the intended mr2, it would be sweet.

with that said, there are 700hp mr2 3sgte with a t78 turbo and sleeved block.
