I just had to post to say how awesome the Canadian Motorsport Heritage Day's Celebration of Speed was!
We should get a contingent of NSXs to come out next year. You don't have to drive your car on the track, you get to ride with Pro Drivers (or me:wink
Scott Goodyear, Elliot Forbes Robinson, Rick Bye, Chris Bye, and more.
People bought tickets and went out for a bunch of laps with the Pros (or me) and had a hoot. Scott Goodyear was driving a Lambo, EFR was in a Porsche 944 (NA) and I was mixing it up with them (Lambo was fast period, EFR was fast in the corners but I had WAY more HP so I left him in the straights)
There was the Scott Goodyear/Mackenzie car and a Midland F1 car there and you get pictures and ask questions, and actually touch them - no velvet ropes.
There was even this yellow NSX that had all this downforce, go-fast stuff on it - I recall seeing disappear in my rearview mirror.
Next year the plan is the same so the second I know the date, book it off work - I'll arrange it so you can have a "hot" lap, (lukewarm lap?) in Dave's NSX too!
The highlight of my students' day was when I took his Z06 on the track and we matched speed and then dived inside on a F 360 at the end of the straight. (150 mph dive in was late breaking and took 8 at 100 mph - I like the HUD)
The highlight of my day was talking cars with EFR and then going out on the track with him.
