Just to wrap up on this thread, I ended up failing to have any real success getting R134a into the port, so I went to my local mechanic who did an excellent job. He diagnosed a leaking schrader valve and fixed it plus topped off the system for $100.
Since I still had the 'fan only runs on...
Thanks for the posts & advice. What I was looking at previously was NOT the low side port, but the bleed valve on the aircon low-side line. The diagrams & pictures helped me locate the low-side port - yay! Will top off system and see where that gets us.
Sadly the CCU is also displaying the...
Thanks, very helpful!
This confirms my suspicion - my Highside is definitely the quick-connectr R134, but the low-side actually looks different from the drawing. I'll post a pic later this week.
Meantime, am I right that a 97 should be R134 from the factory?
I have a 97, which I believe came from the factory with R134a. The air is not blowing very cold, so my first step is to check the pressure / recharge the refridgerant.
After a few searches on Prime & the WWW, I was all set to charge it up with a can of R134a from Walmart, and came to hook up...
Thanks for the suggestions so far!! Looks like there may be some better options out there than my current arrangement, so NSX Prime comes up trumps again.
I'll let you know how it pans out
Sadly Top Gear (& the media in general!) are just out to make news, so I have long ago abandoned any hope of an objective view. Not that this stops me being pleased when they say nice things about my cars, and getting mad when they don't!
On the subject of the NSX, I have seen various TopGear...
Currently got everything (3 cars + house) insured with National. The NSX is costing me just over $500 / 6 mths. (fyi, 40 yrs old + clean record)
Not an outrageous amount, but it irks me they can't offer me a policy to match my needs (less than 2000 miles a year, pleasure only & no commuting)...
When I bought my NSX it had standard shocks and Eibachs. Turmed out to be too low for my drive & I only use it on roads not track, so I put it on Bilsteins (upper perch) and returned to OEM springs. Noticeable improvement....body roll is same as it always was (ie minimal) plus I benefit from a...
Well I know how you feel - I have admired and assessed virtually everything which goes by the description of sports car, and spent many, many months weighing up the options before deciding to go for an NSX.
From the information you gave (what you admire in the NSX, how you espect to use it &...
I was just heading past the Glaxo site on Collegeville Rd, right by the 422 exit at 1.30pm yesterday and saw a beautiful red NSX. Difficult to tell through the traffic but it looked like it had after-market wheels, was riding lowered and had a body kit on.
It's not often I get to look at one...
You may be right - I'll look at the carpet itself tonight as I can't recall the color of it. I
f the carpet is black then IO would agree the black floor mat is the way to go. And in that case I may PM you and order up a set of true black ones
If the carpet is more gray than black, I'll stick...
As ever, Prime comes up trumps. Thanks very much for your help, esp. the picture from HRant. The gray mat in the top left is exactly the one I need to get.
