2022 NSX Type S Registry

I've been driving mine in our nice weather this week. Very smooth. Any one else steering wheel just a tad off center going straight?

Tonight's NSX Type S, #018, 19UNC1B03NY000018, arrived at Crown Acura early February 2022. You can still see snow under the parking lot lights while #018 was pulled off the transport truck in the factory protective wrap on its way to a garage bay at the dealership. Seems this car sat on the showroom floor for short period before it was delivered (or sold) to the current owner. Fortunately, they waited for the paint to cure before taking it to Esoteric Detail for a full PPF wrapping in May 2022. According to the Todd Cooperider, Founder and Detailing Enthusiast, this was the first of 6 Type S' they have provided protective services that year. This car has the distinction of being the first Berlina Black car off the production line and "Triple Black" at that (paint, interior and wheels, LOL). The next one was car #021, coincidently, is also a triple black car except it has leather/Alcantara seats. My notes also indicate this car did spend time up on Ebay as well, curious. It was fully loaded with ebony leather seats, lightweight package, Berlina Black Gloss wheels over red calipers and XM radio technology package. You can also see in the interior photo; this car has the CF dash visor. Photos by Crown Acura and the finished one in the upper left is courtesy of Esoteric Detail.

Car was driven by the President of Crown Acura for its first 780 miles. Sold in Early Feb 2023 and delivered to me in Texas and lives with her 2002 Imola/Imola sister.

Will the real car #027 of 350, 19UNC1B04NY000027, please stand up and be noticed! As I mentioned in an earlier posting, car #23 was mistakenly labeled as #027 on social media. However, after some research and analysis, and a clear picture of the engine bay production badging, the actual car is painted in Curva Red (not Long Beach Blue Pearl)! #027 was ordered from Ed Martin Acura with all the top shelf options. Seats are wrapped in Ebony leather with black Alcantara inserts. The lightweight package was paired with Shark Gray Matte wheels and the ever-popular red calipers. Estimated MSRP is $184,995. The collections of photo are credited across the following folks: Sean @nighthawk_sixspeed, Ty @redsol81, @jmiblack and @Meeyatch1.

quick update, found a picture of #027 still sitting at the dealership 7 months later, November 22, 2022 sitting next to a matching gen 1 NSX....Nice!

Time for another Gotham Gray Matte Metallic car. Today, #209, 19UNC1B0XNY000209, is under the spotlight. We all know Acura announced up to 70 GGMM paint order slots were available. In particular, the press release had this to say about it, "Available in 10 colors, the 2022 NSX Type S will be the first Acura product in North America available in an exclusive matte paint finish. The Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio uses a five-layer process that paints individual panels before they are mounted to the car, allowing each panel to completely cure before the next coat of paint is applied. For the even more sinister appearance of Gotham Gray, a clear matte metallic finish is applied as the fifth layer instead of the instead of the glossy clearcoat normally used. Its production will be limited to just 70 of the 350 NSX Type S models that will be built." Of the 70 allocations, Canada received 5 and Japan 10. Today, the NSX Type S tracker accounts for 49 cars in the USDM, 5 cars in Canada and 10 cars in Japan. That's 64 of the possible 70. I said it before and from what I am seeing, not all of the 70 GGMM allocations were not consumed. The tracker data is improving and there still may be a bad data point here or there. However, I don't believe there are 6 cars with incorrect exterior colors. I also don't believe the press cars were part of the 70 (there appears to be at least 4 GGMM cars deployed around the world for reviews). Back to #209. This car was the 37th USDM GGMM car off the production line and about 46th overall (+5 for Canada and +4 Japan through mid-August 2022). #209 arrived new at Weir Canyon Acura. Weir is pretty active on social media and documented this car extensively. It was configured with every possible upgrade and one of the few to hit the highest MSRP of $193,495 in the US. As expected, the interior photo shows it has the Alcantara instrument cluster visor. Full red leather covers the seats. The lightweight package with the carbon ceramic rotors is surrounded by Berlina Black Gloss wheels and red calipers. Finally, this car has the XM radio technology package upgrade. Photos are courtesy of Ryan @a1_garage and Weir Canyon Acura.

You know what would be cool, the Ford GT program included a nice poster of little pics of every second gen GT showing # and color combo..and that was for 1300 or so cars, 350 would be easy..

Great idea. When we complete the 350, I'll create a comprehensive montage that hopefully can reveal a bigger image. Gee I wonder if there's a program for that?

Gotham Gray was my first choice and I got bumped to LBBP which is still amazing. I wrote a letter to Acura about how I live in Hawaii and want the GGMM paint and I'd be the only one here with this car. I even go to car events, worked for Acura in the 90's and currently own a NC1 blah blah blah then to see they never even made all 70 is very disappointing....

TGIF. Been awhile since the last posting. I have many cars captured and ready to post but work has just been crazy lately. With that, here's car #062, 19UNC1B06NY000062, sold originally by Davis Acura to new owner Andy @mingjunjun in what's should be known as the classic Long Beach Blue Pearl paint option. Comments by the dealership, "Our general sales manager Ed Riley congratulating Andy on taking home #62/350 of the 2022 NSX TYPE S and our sales consultant @evan_at_acura delivering it! The 2022 Acura NSX Type S was limited to 350 total units with 300 staying in the US and 50 abroad. This specific one comes with the lightweight package providing carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber splitter, rear spoiler, and engine cover and covered in Long Beach Blue!" Also found photos of this car being PPF'ed by Buff & Beyond (not the fancy head-on shot with the headlamps on). Other photos by Davis Acura. I should also not that this car as with many of the sub 100 production number cars, there is no satellite radio shark fin. There's evidence this car got the CF binnacle. MSRP is estimated at $185,495.

Finally, Acura of Oakland posted some pictures of #010, 19UNC1B09NY000010 about a month ago. This was the first 130R White car off the production line back January 2022. The configuration/options are about as basic as you can get. Interior is Ebony Alcantara/leather. This was the second car built with iron rotors and paired with Shark Gray Matte wheels. On the bright side for those that care for a smooth roofline, the XM radio option as not selected. It goes without saying the instrument visor is Alcantara. As of today, this car is still for sale at the dealership. The listing claims the MSRP is $173,495.
1684514628196.png
However, for the life of me, I cannot reconcile the $2000 of installed options. It certainly not "factory" installed options with exception of the CF engine cover that has a $750 cost (even though we know it was mandatory due to supply chain issues). Maybe some dealership options have been added to the car. My guess would be the premium car mats for $1,255 bringing the options total to $2,005!

This is really tempting- it's exactly how I would spec it.

I have the same spec, different color. I only ordered leather and was lucky to not have the XM wart mandated.

Still have many postings to go. I came across production #249, 19UNC1B00NY000249 some time ago. I recall @syoung298 posting, back on December 2022, this car is located in Northern Virginia, has a yellow exterior color, Ebony Leather seats with red stitching and the following options: gloss black wheels, full carbon pack, upgraded audio, carbon ceramics. Okay, here's the rub. All the data points and pictures I have has #249 with different options. Both are indeed Indy Yellow Pearl, but that's where the similarities end. The car and badging pictured in the montage has iron rotors, red brake calipers, Shark Gray Matte wheels, a full semi-Aniline red leather seat option and the XM radio technology upgrade. I have photos the day of deliver at Acura of Johnston showing the interior (see separate photo). The montage includes pictures taken by the dealership is in their show room back in November 2022. I've always said, the data we have may not be accurate but, in this case, I have personally seen documentation on this car that matches the social media data points. In fact, I was able to confirm this car also was optioned with the "Signature Interior Package", aka carbon fiber steering wheel and it came off the production line on September 27, 2022 and prep'ed at the dealership on November 11, 2022. Hmm..

I had not realized that no photo set was created or posted for car #193, 19UNC1B0XNY000193. This is one of only two cars that optioned with "orange" brake calipers and not painted in Thermal Orange Pearl. This car was tracked in an earlier discussion on this thread. It first came to market through WK Motors in the Bay Area, California. Then it past through some auctions until it ended up at Finley Honda in Henderson Nevada. It is painted in the limited-edition Gotham Gray Matte Metallic paint. Still a very cool and unique color. Seats are red leather with black Alcantara inserts. It does have the lightweight package option with Shark Gray Matte wheels and the technology package adding the XM radio option. Look closely at the dash you'll see the instrument visor is Alcantara. MSRP was listed at $190,995. #193 came off the production line in the first weeks of August 2022. Interestingly, the cars before and after on the production line was book ended by Berlina Black paint jobs.

Still filling in the gaps and for those that may be a little dyslectic from the previous posting, here's car #139. Fortunately, car #139, 19UNC1B04NY000139, recently passed through Elite Finish in San Diego, California. It got the full Monty of protection and polish. Sold new at AutoNation Acura Gulf Freeway, this Long Beach Blue Pearl car is one of 46 or 13.1% of the 350 cars produced. It was manufactured in the beginning June 2022. These pictures provided one more missing configuration option the red brake caliper color for the tracker. This takes the caliper color count to 292 of the 350 cars. Red being the most popular color choice which now sits at 75.3% of the known brake caliper colors. Wheels are Shark Gray Matte over the carbon ceramic rotors from the lightweight package option. Interior is full red leather seats with the XM radio in the technology package. The MSRP is $186,995. Photo credit goes to Elite Finish.

I've been tracking #125 production number for some time now. The very first picture I found was back in July of 2022. I suspected it was car #125 only because it was the right color and posted by the originating dealership, Frank Leta Acura (see lower center photo of a colorful late fall looking day even though it was posted in July, 🙄 ). However, I only had a very cool picture and only circumstantial registration evidence. So, I catalogued the picture and worked on other production numbers. Move the clock forward some 8 months and I ran into photos by Caleb @custom_creations_by_caleb and Supercar Vibes @a.supercar.life on social media. Some really spectacular shots (see lower left shot). The owner previously had an older NC1 and this was his replacement/upgrade. I noted the XM antenna was not present (see upper left picture in the montage). So I went back to the Type S tracker and looked for those cars painted in Casino White Pearl, optioned with Ebony interior, Shark Gray Matte wheels, red calipers and no technology package. The list dropped down to just 2 cars, #019 and #125. The dealership was the tie breaker. #019 comes from Acura of Brookfield (and I don't have a single photo of it yet). #125, well, I know it comes from Leta and remember that first picture? After all that, the owner just recently posted some new pictures and well its comfirmed....here is #125 in all its glory. BTW, the MSRP is $183,145 and was built in late June 2022 almost 1 year to the day of this posting. Whew!

Brookfield is owned by the same family that owns Middleton, where I bought my car
Please confirm that you are looking for pics of 019 sold at Brookfield and I will reach out to my sales guy to see if he has some pics

That’s affirmative. Absolutely need pics of #019. TYSM.

Did you know the Acura Andaro paint uses a tinted chroma-clear? If you've seen it in person, it adds a distinctive depth and color changing appearance. When I got my car PPF'ed, the technicians were blown away by the color, depth and quality of the paint. These guys have seen and worked on cars costing millions of dollars and they were impressed with the Novelle Blue Pearl on my Type S. One last factoid. The standard NSX paint is 7 to 8 millimeters thick. The $700 premium colors have a depth of 9 to 10 millimeters. But the Andaro paint package tops them all at 16 to 17 millimeters. Today's post is a Novelle Blue Pearl car seen at Charleston Cars & Coffee by Michael M @michael_e92 and videos posted @charlestoncarsandcoffee on Feb 19th, 2022. Car #011, 19UNC1B00NY000011, must had been driven straight from the dealership to the event. #011 was the first Novelle Blue Pearl car off the production line and sold new at Jenkins Acura. Most notably, this is only one of 20 cars with the silver calipers. You can see the distinctive Orchid interior through the passenger window. The lightweight package was paired with Berlina Black Gloss wheels. Finally, this car was capped with the XM radio technology package. MSRP was $192,495.

#258, 19UNC1B01NY000258, finally came up for air and landed at Indy 2023 Mecum Auction this weekend (Saturday, May 20th). This car came with lots of fan fair because the only other Type S to cross their auction block was #001. In their words, "only 6 miles from new, No. 258 out of 300 built for the U.S., Protective plastic still intact, Window sticker still affixed, Twin turbocharged 3.5L/600 HP DOHC V-6 engine, 9-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, 3-motor Sport Hybrid super handling all-wheel drive, Lightweight Package with Red brake calipers, $13,000 option, Berlina Black exterior, Red interior, Semi-aniline leather and Alcantara interior, LCD touchscreen and multi-view rear camera, Dual zone automatic climate control with air filtration system, and ELS Studio Audio and Technology package." This was a good find for our tracker. I was able to correct the seats from full red leather to red leather with Alcantara black inserts and add many missing configuration options. I don't have the selling price, but the estimated MSRP should be $186,495. My records indicate this car was delivered new to McConnell Acura.

Straight from Wichita Kansas is another Andaro Valencia Red Pearl NSX Type-S. This is car #190, 19UNC1B04NY000190. Acura of Wichita did a fantastic job of documenting the unwrapping and presentation to the new owners. I wish I got custom decorate cookies with my production number! Hop over to their Facebook page to see the complete unveiling. Back in October 18th, 2022, #190 was unwrapped and meticulously prepared. This car comes fully loaded with the maximum possible MSRP for the US of $193,495. Every bell and whistle were selected from the full Ebony leather seats to the lightweight package and Gloss Berlina Black wheels. This car rolled off the production line in early August 2022. Contrasting red calipers are mounted on the carbon ceramic brake rotors. And because this car was built in the second half of the production run, the instrument visor is wrapped in black Alcantara instead of carbon fiber. None the less, the car looks fantastic. Photo credits go to Acura of Wichita.

Heads up, the NSX Prime Library Type-S tracker has been updated. It been just over two months since the last update. Some small corrections and many additions to missing option details. As for the configuration options summaries, here's the current counts and percentages:

the andaro paint is amazing, so is the different shade of red on the calipers...my only reason to order a black or silver caliper..

@97NSXer

I think I recall you are an I.T. guy.

Well, you missed your calling. You'd be a fine criminal investigator. You display such diligence and a mind like a lint trap. (compliments!)
Keep doing what you do - we love it.

That Valencia as above is incredible - lucky couple depicted in the final photo collage. Man they are ALL GOOD!
