Nsx Service Girl recently posted a list, that was quite inclusive; I thought I would refine it to include the expansion tank hoses and replace the AC19424-PL2-000 Hose (I think this is a length of hose, to make 3 Bypass hoses) with the actual B and and 2 each C Bypass hoses that are *. Approximately 6 hours labor was estimated to replace the hoses.

I blew an oil cooler (coolant) hose recently and replaced both the inlet and outlet hose. My mechanic did not put on two outlet hoses as listed here, but he did replace a 'Figure 8' style of O-ring or washer inside the oil cooler. He said these often wear on our cars and if/when you do the hoses you should do this rubber part too. I have the part number at home if anyone is interested.

Nice post. 6 hours is less than I would have expected - some of those hoses look like a real pain to get to. I'll add that list to the FAQ.

It took me about 1/2 hour to replace the 5 major ones. And it was my first time doing it. If you do the math I think the 6 hours is about right. (that 1/2 hour did not include the bleed)

I know the 2 hours for the oil cooler lines may seen crazy, but they ARE the real hard ones. The hose clamps on the inner pipe connections for the oil cooler are even hard to see, let alone get to!!!!!!!!!

Either way, if you do 23 or the 2 cooler hoses you need to do a flush and bleed, so you have that overhead to consider when comparing the labor.

Slingshot, great post, thanks.

My $.02,

LarryB

Larry: Thanks for your explanation. I was actually charged 3 hours but deducted 1 for the bleeding PLUS an oil and filter change.

Here is the (oil cooler) (I think) gasket number for those interested:

91318-PY3-000 'Figure 8 Oil Ring'

I was charged $10.02 for this. I was charged prices above those above for the other two hoses. I am very happy with my dealer (Acura Carland in Duluth) and enjoy my relationship with them. After my hose blew I drove their beautiful 2003 TL loaner car for 10 days at no charge. Ten days to repair? I told them I was in no hurry, the wrong parts came in originally etc.

Nice job. Are those really list prices or close to it?

Hey Mark at Dali, you need to lower your price on the 22 piece set you offer!

This will allow you to cross reference the above OEM part numbers to SoS's pic. The pic is the same OEM slide:).

HTH,

Thank you very much Larry... as always you are a highly important source of information...

Thanks again about a year ago or so for assisting me with the clutch install info...

For those of you who may be interested in doing the same thing... remove the following:

5- 19518-PR7-A00 HOSE, WATER MIDDLE (UPPER) 21.98
10-19506-PR7-A01 HOSE, RR. WATER (LOWER)(WHITE PAINTED)16.70
11-19502-PR7-A00 HOSE, FR. WATER (LOWER)(WHITE PAINTED)24.08
12-19501-PR7-A00 HOSE, FR. WATER (UPPER)(WHITE PAINTED)16.70
13-19507-PR7-A01 HOSE, RR. WATER (UPPER)(YELLOW PAINTED)16.70
15-19519-PR7-A00 HOSE, WATER MIDDLE (LOWER) 24.73

Just as I had expected.... the 6 most expensive from the list..
x

If you want to do all the hoses, plan on (at least) one more hose
than is on the list. [update: the list is more complete than I'd
realized; see Larry's response below]

Note that there are three pipes under the car, and in addition to
19518-PR7-A00 and 19519-PR7-A00 (18 and 17 in the diagram)
there's a third hose that is not drawn in. I bought a length of
hose from NAPA that fit.

Does anyone know if there are part numbers for the hoses that
connect to the heater core, or are those just plain bulk hose?

Here is the heater core diagram. Are you talking about the hoses that attach to part #4? I'm seeing what I can find. It appears that these hoses go from the heater core to parts #20 and #21 (which look like two pipe assemblies) in the diagram above.

i'm getting sick of these damn coolant hoses! i got all the main hoses done at a dealer, and found that something was leaking a lil. they wouldn't even look at it because it had been over a year before i reported it to them (1 year and 2 WEEKS).... half of that time i wasn't even driving it  needless to say, i was pissed.

replaced the bottle, cap, and expansion hoses. that wasn't it. replaced #12, that wasn't it. now i'm going to replace #11, because i'm pretty confident that's the faulty hose. well, i went to replace it on friday, and access to that single hose is a complete bitch. so i just ordered another #12 and the heater hose (#11 on the heater water illustration), and another #4 and #5 (since i've removed them a couple times already. (is there even a way to remove the bigger hoses without cutting them off???)

i figure start all of them fresh while i'm in there. still..... i'm paying for this over and over

if i didn't get wholesale on parts, and was too afraid to work on the car, i'd be realllly pissed. anyway, i can't wait till that little leak is GONE.

The Acura Carland parts site is pretty cool. I like how they have the diagrams with the part numbers

I'm looking at this old by very useful list with respect to my 1996 NSX. When I look at
http://www.oemacuraparts.com/auto-p...nual-engine/engine-cat/oil-cooler-hose-2-scat I see two differences:
1. Only one of 19524-PR7-A00 (items 18 & 19 below) shows in the diagram (their diagram ref # 12)
2. 19523-PR7-A00 HOSE B, BYPASS (item 20 below) is only used on 1991 - 1994
So, for my 1996, I "only" need 21 hoses.

Anyone disagree??

That part number is not shown at all in the parts list in your link.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's not applicable to your car; it possibly could mean that it's been discontinued and is no longer available.

EDIT: As you have indicated below, it wasn't listed because the wrong parts list was shown in the link. :)

1991-94 use 2 of the 19524-PR7-A00
1995+ only uses 1 of them.

All hoses available as of today.....

Thanks for catching that. I had 3 diagrams open with coolant hoses, and copied the URL for the wrong diagram. Here it is, in case you are interested. http://www.oemacuraparts.com/auto-p...nual-engine/engine-cat/oil-cooler-hose-2-scat
I've got to stay more awake today! I also updated it in my previous post. As Larry B noted all are available and even prices are quoted in the link.
