Totally bummed about Audi and Penske Racing pulling out just as Acura becomes a competitive force in ALMS P1 and P2...

Here's my complete gallery on SmugMug

And here's an excerpt from Day 1:

The NSX with the LED tail lights is badass!

Great pics. Quick trigger and fast shots capturing the Viper with the dirt kicking up behind him. That's an awesome camera. I was wondering when someone was going to post more pics of this event.

Thank you.

Awesome pics! What lens were you shooting with?

Long shots were Canon EF 70-200 F2.8/L IS (some of the shots near Turn 2 also used the 1.4x extender), wide shots were Canon EF 16-35 F2.8/L

I absolutely love these lenses.

I was so paranoid about shots not being sharp that I started upping my shutter speed. Last year I lost some amazing shots taken with the shutter speed at 1/500, but, when I shot at this speed this year, the LCD made them look blurry...so I upped it to 1/750 and 1/1500. Much too fast...I would have been happier if the wheels and the background featured more motion blur (believe me...I was tempted to add some in post, but decided against it).

Very nice! I have the equivalent Nikon Nikkor 70-200 F.28 VR and absolutely love it! Just saving up some pennies for the 24-70 F2.8 VR to make everything complete. Just like the NSX, digital photography is a money pit as well!

We'll see how deep the pit goes...I have the Canon EOS 5D Mark II on pre-order...and sense a whole slew of new lenses and accessories I'll want to purchase to best take advantage of its full frame sensor and HD 1080p video capabilities! Next year I may have to start charging for my photography/videography services...

Really enjoyed, thx Akira.
Go DeFarran!
More I see of Laguna Seca, more me likee big time

Nice photography, what camera were you using? Is there a decent zoom lens you would recommend that is not the L series? Im about to purchase a 40D with a decent prime lens but still looking to see what zoom lens I'll get.

These were taken with the Canon EOS 30D.

As for zoom recommendations, I have a hard time recommending anything but L series. I rarely use my non-L lens (Canon EF 28-105 F3.8-4/5) because the quality difference is obvious and the L lens is just so much faster.

ah thanks, yeah I would go for an "L" lens but being a beginner I think I'll build into something that good. For now I just want to stick to best bang for the buck . The pics came out great though, nice timing!

First set of photos, who IS that guy with the pensive look on his face and the earplugs?

BTW, everytime my kids play Crash Bandicoot I tell my wife about you. Keep up the good work man!

Man...Crash is like two generations ago. How about introducing them to Jak and Daxter or Uncharted: Drake's Fortune? :D

I used to love getting chased by the giant ball in the original when I was in middle school!

I started working at Naughty Dog on Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, but playing the original is what got me totally excited about joining the team.

And now I feel old...

I've meet Gil de Ferran on a small sushi restaurant here in Las Olas - FL, he was alone I was with my wife and her friends, what a nice guy (I am not the kind of person stalker or obsessed with celebrities @ all + no one from our table had clue who he was -3 girls friends of my wife-) since I have lived in Brazil for 10 years we went portuguese all the way ... it was great, I was just PISSED i didn't have a camera nor the NSX .. i bet he wouldn't mind driving mine .. that could be a cool little story since he was CLEARLY bored that afternoon .. BTW he was driving an CR-V LOLOLOL .. I was on the RL ... no fun there ...
