Any Microphone recommendations for my Galaxy S3 and future phones?

I've been meaning to take videos of my NSX STMPO in action and the S3 phone mic is just so dam sensitive that the sound distorts.

lol, I do have a low post count. Good grief. I'm here just about every day...
Anyway, no, makes sense in that when you plug in a headset for talking that the phone detects the mic and earpeace and turns off the phones mic and speaker. I would assume it would do the same when the videocamera is on?

I was looking into recording with a mic(video recording) because in stock form it was horrible, at least while I was recording my guitar through my amp. Then I came across this thread.

Not sure if it's even capable of good sound while video recording. Kinda sucks...
