The guy took his post down and now he sent me this email:

I apologize for delay, I was on shift for 3 days.
The car has a clear title, no accidents, not even a dent, clean
interior ,non smoker.
You can pickup the car from my residence or I can arrange
shipping, using US Army Freight Service, I am a medical officer in
WBO-DK base.
For our transaction, I recommend a deposit, upon confirmation I will
ship you the vehicle, and you will get 10 days inspection period. If you
accept the car, upon title transfer you will pay me the balance, or in
case the car is not suitable for you from any reason, I will take back
the car on my expenses and I will refund your deposit 100 %.
If interested let me know, in order to setup the details.

Let me know at your earliest convenience,
Lt.Dr.Igor Tomaz
WBO-DK US Army

Now this kind of smells like a rat. Is it worth even pursuing? He sent the email under the name "Mark Woods" This is just a heads up in case the guy has been contacting any other prospective NSX buyers.

anyone asking for deposit so they can send their car to you is a scam.

good luck trying to collect on your deposit when you dont get a nsx dropped off at your door steps with a bow and ribben.

I've heard of many variations of this scam. They tell you to send the money to a broker, they will even go as far as creating fake websites of well known brokers. They tell you that they will send you the car at their expense and will pay to ship the the car back if you don't like it. Most often they will not allow you to inspect it without paying upfront.

Like the post before, never buy a car if you have to pay upfront to inspect the car. Ask if you can have them drive out to a local mechanic or dealer that you choose to have it inspected.

Or have them fax you service receipts.

Just make sure you do your due diligence before handing out money.

This one is [email protected]. He has some funny replies that I can post later. I asked him if he would like unmarked bills or gold bullion for the deposit.

If anyone wants a good laugh, you can email [email protected]

Here are some of the replies I got after I asked if he wanted me to send the cash in a box via UPS. I also asked if he was a homeopathic doctor because no MD ranks as a Lt. or below.

The replies:

I apologize for delay, I was on duty.
Yes I am a Homeopathic Doctor, I am not able to handle the transaction in
person because I am in mission here but I can arrange shipping or you can
pickup the car from my location.
I need a deposit before the weekend, so we can complete the transaction
during the weekend,
you can send the deposit via cash transfer, westernunion.com , to my
associate in New York.
I need also , your full name and address in order to setup a notarized sale
contract that will secure your deposit and to certify ownership.

Thank you
Lt.Dr.Mark Woods

here are extra pictures.
Please let me know if we can proceed today.

I really just need to vent...I can't stand these F&*kers wasting everyone's time with their stupid SCAMS. Who in their right mind would sell something and full trust the buyer to pick up the item than pay if the like it. idiot, most these emails can be traced to it's orgins with sniffer softwares and more than likely they are in some oversea place where they can't be bite by US laws.

I can't stand these idiots on Craigslist and now they are invading our forums?

filter them out...

anyway, hope ya having a great day...

Thank God they still don't speak English very well.

It's going to be tough when they do.

Curious what your only and best course of action would be "if" you sent him the $$ and he didn't promptly ship the car to you would be?

dang!-maybe next time.

I would have some fun with him. Tell him you are willing to pay additional $2,000 when you see the car in person this weekend, as it would take that long to get him the deposit anyway, and you are willing to pay the extra compensation as a consideration of his time. :D

Seriously...he is playing with you, so play back.
