AP-X NSX exhaust system for naturally aspirated and supercharged applications

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

Wil. Has anyone else dynoed the car yet? Any idea what to expect? 10hp?
Do you make the adapter pipes for a 2000?

I would say a solid 10hp gain would be a good estimate. I do not make the adapters as they are available so easily from numerous sources.

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

I have an exhaust that is built and ready to ship immediately if anyone is interested.

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

This is actually very similar to one of the new options, here is a pic of one of the options, these were adjusted to point more straight, but could easily be adjusted to angle upwards if desired.

The other two options I need to get pics, one is identical to the current double wall, but 3.5" , the other is a 4" straight cut tip and the other is a 3.5" double wall but different.

Hey Wil,

Can You offer an AP-X set up with tips identical to the burnt angled ARC style? I would be very interested, Please PM a quote when You get the chance. It's for an 03 NA2

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

The 3" tips (same as my turbo kit) look similar, but I have not tried to replicate the burnt look.

All of the tips I offer are the same price.

Thanks for posting these! Car looks beautiful as always, it's great to see someone enjoying DC's car!

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

Looking forward to receiving mine soon. Thanks for posting these GrounDDesignS.

Can You replicate the burnt look? I am liking this exhaust the more I read into it. Sounds amazing. What does the tips on the turbo application look like?

Take a look at post # 203 - page 9.

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

I have a system in the jig without the tips welded so if anyone wants one, I can install your choice of tips!

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

I would like a show of hands here, I thought of posting a poll but let's see how much interest there is - I have two questions:

1) how many are seriously interested in quad tips

2) how many would be interested in a different exhaust layout that still had the same sound (by this I mean most likely twin angled cannisters, like my one off turbo exhaust) This would look different, but sound the same, possibly with the inclusion of the helmholtz or quarter wave resonators.

I am interested in quad tips (burnt preferably) but wouldn't be opposed to the twin angled canisters either. What would the Helmholtz resonators do to the exhaust?

This is My next purchase, and I am slowly swaying towards the Angus AP-X

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

I should soon have the option to add quarter wave resonators to the current exhaust - This may be an excellent solution to those who have a drone in their setup (the Y-pipe can be sent back to have them installed)

I also have some hi-flow cats and resonated test pipes in the works.

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

OK folks! Even though not everyone has encountered the drone with this system, some have had it - I have now developed a solution, this is a simple tube that can be added during the build process, if anyone has one of my sytems and would like it added, you can send the Y-pipe back and have it added.

This positively eliminates the drone between 2200 and 2500RPM.

PM me for info.

I'll have pics up soon, it's pretty simple to look at - nothing more than a pipe, it looks like this:

______ :smile::rolleyes:

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

Well I have really done it now, I have a new exhaust with no drone on a stock car with stock headers and cats, I will be testing this further but it looks like we have the "AP-X version 2" and it's going to be released soon.

Stay tuned.

Sounds great. Can't wait to learn more. My drone is getting on my nerves.

Funny, I doubt the "drone" from the version 1 would get on your nerves - it's really not that loud -

Re: New offering : N/A exhaust (emissions compliant)

Any pics for the quarter wave resonators yet?
It is a pipe straight across the y-pipe to connect the two banks - I will get some pics up when I get time to take them -

The pipe is visible in this pic however.
