I searched through the database (now that should kill the forum nazi) looking for the best service for my NSX. The postings out there that I saw are old (1999 for McGrath and 2000 for TAD or Woodfield if I am reading this correctly).

If you had to have your NSX serviced, where would you go today?

Hands Down.

One of the best from an oil change, to supercharger install, to a full race NSX.
Agree with T Bell. John and his crew at AoB are hands down the best in the area.

For more minor/routine service involving factory/OEM parts, you may want to try some of more local dealers, such as Pauly Acura (Highland Park) or Woodfield (Schaumburg-area). Not quite as far as Brookfield (W of Milwaukee).

Since I live in Wisconsin, I take my NSX to AoB for everything.

If I lived in Chicago, I would still go to AoB for most anything NSX-related. I suppose I might get some minor things done at Chicago-area dealers, but for anything major I would make the trip to Wisconsin.

I took my NSX to Pauly for the 30k service and then to AoB for my clutch and a tech inspection. Both had great prices although when AoB did the tech inspection they found that the other shop (never told them the name) over filled my oil and either half-assed my brake fluid flush or used absolute crap fluid.

I don't mind the drive to AoB from Chicago for quality service at a fair price. John always goes out of his way to answer questions and cut you a break when he can.

Of the nine Acura dealers in the Chicago area, there are two that do a lot of NSX service: Woodfield Acura in Hoffman Estates, and Pauly Acura in Highland Park. Both have two highly-experienced NSX techs, and more often than not, you can find them working on an NSX. You can trust them with even the most complicated NSX services, such as clutch replacements, timing belt replacements, major services, etc.

The same can be said of Acura of Brookfield. AoB is also likely to be somewhat less expensive than the other two dealers. However, it is a hundred miles each way, which is not exactly convenient for most folks, even with a loaner car for larger jobs (which means driving two round trips there, of course).

When I'm doing something that is specific to racetrack use and/or aftermarket modifications, I'm likely to make the long drive to Milwaukee for Acura of Brookfield, which has more experience in these particular areas than the Chicago-area dealers. In fact, if I wanted to do something like an aftermarket supercharger installation, that's the only place I would go.

For most other NSX service, I stick to one of the two places in the Chicago area, simply because of the distance.

I would trust any of the three to service my NSX properly. And so can you.

Thanks to all

AoB sounds like a ROAD TRIP:D

Regards and appreciation

Mcgrath Acura in Morton Grove just hired a new NSX specialist from a Colorado dealer where they would service 10 or so NSX's a week. The couple times I needed some info from him I could tell he is pretty experienced.

Based on the complaints I have heard from owners in Colorado about their dealers and the lack of good NSX mechanics, that number is almost certainly a gross exaggeration. (I'm not saying the guy doesn't have NSX experience, but it can't be that much...)
