Broken Trim Clip - Center Air Vent

I recently removed my center air vent and console to send my climate control unit out for service. While taking the vent out, one of the spring clips that hold it in place came off and the other isn't far behind. It seems that the plastic studs were originally longer, then the manufacturing process melted the plastic to hold the clip in place. Now the plastic has broken off.

Before I just grab some sort of epoxy and cross my fingers, I figured I would ask if anyone has a recommendation for a good method to re-attach these metal clips to the plastic.

Yes, JB Weld will work. Scuff up the plastic, make a thin blob over the spring metal and that should do it.

A pop rivet or even a thin "chicago/binding/sex"bolt will do.
