Digital NSX-specific HID kits gauging interest in group buy

Steve,

Did you miss this post above?:biggrin:

in case you answer YES to the first question, what price can i expect for just the bulbs?

and on your list, you can change:
"10. UnhuZ possibly for a 4300k D2S kit"
to
"10. UnhuZ really wants to go for a 4300k D2S kit"
:wink::wink:

Thanks,
Nuno

Oops, Nuno.
Yes, the bulbs can easily be switched out in the future if you desire. You will need an adaptor to connect the standard D2S bulbs (no wires) to the ballast, or you can opt for the modified D2S bulbs already wired to connect to the ballast. The bulbs run about $100. I can order the right color that you want so you don't need to change in the future. Or you can just order total of 2 pairs of bulbs so to use one set and save the other as spare.
As far as whether the kit is completely "plug and play", it will be depending if your car has the original 9006 harness. If it uses 9006, it is plug-and-play from start from finish. If your car uses H1 bulbs, then you will need to hook up the positive and negative leads to the corresponding leads on the car since H1 does not use a harness. Is your car a US model imported to Lisbon or a European model?

thanks,
Nuno

Ok, I am really hoping that we have enough orders to form a 100 sets pricing by end of July, otherwise I will only order 50 kits with the resultant pricing of $319 which is still way better than the usual $369.

Hi Steve, I have had one of your kits on my car now for several years without a problem. I had considered the high beam but was informed that they take too long to light up. So your new ones lite up quickly as they are digital? How fast is fast. Will they be on by the time the headlights pop open if you flash your lights?

Thanks,
Manny

Hi Manny,
Nice to hear from you. Yes, it will be as bright as the halogen when the headlights pop open and it will continue to increase the intensity.

I've been procrastinating with this for years, nows the time! Please Put me down for a low beam 4300 steve!

You won't be sorry. TheDON and I put mine on in about an hour and I havent hit a pothole since (because now I CAN see them  ). Steve's kit is bullet proof and the instructions are so easy even Alex can get the job done. I'm just jealous because I have the older kit with the big honkin ballasts but it has never given me a day of trouble and that's really what counts

Put me down for a 4300k set of low beams.

I left the last set in the 92 I sold.

Nuno,
Your car will be quite complicated. It is originally using H1 for both low and high beams. H1 does not have a harness. It has a NEGATIVE/GROUND spade terminal that connect to the bulb end. The POSITIVE 12V lead goes to the headlight housing. Now your car is converted to a USA HID unit which uses D2S/D2C for the low beam and 9005 for the high beam. Without knowing how exactly that you got the conversion done, there is no way that a kit can be made "plug" and play since your car has no specific headlight plug. The best you can do is to be able to connect a positive/12 v wire and a negative/ground wire. The rest will be "plug and play" just like everyone else's.
This kit will be the closest thing to "plug and play" that you can do for your application since it is neither a stock H1 nor a USA NSX.
Please ask martin who put in 3 sets of my kits in his European H1 NSX.
I don't want to disappoint you if you expect a specific plug.
Yes, for the 9006 and 9005 USA version. It is completely plug and play with absolutely no wire to cut, no hole to drill, and nothing to modify.
Steve

We have a longs way to go to even hit 50!

Are there any other cars these kits fit into? Maybe we can get more people that way..?
Well, I can certainly order different configurations for other cars using such as H1, H7, H3, H11, and so on. Anyway, I am just going to get the order going with the current orders with the price of $319 plus $11 shipping charge. The delivery date is in August since I am also waiting for the caps which are in back order. I will PM everyone the payment instructions. Thanks a million for participating this.
Regards,
Steve

Steve, i would also buy a kit for the 02+ headlights HIGH beam, but can't afford them right now...

Just out of curiosity what is the difference between your HID and this?
http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91686

Not trying to start a vendor war, I'm just curious
Apples to oranges. The same vendor sells the same kit that I am using under a different brand on another thread http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87911&highlight=digital+hid so we are really comparing totally different price range products.
There are HIDs that you can buy for $50 and there are $450 kits. They differ vastly in quality, construction, material, current draw, and sizes. The kits that I am using is the newest digital kit that draws 6 amp peak current at start up. Many cheap kits draws 15 amps which is absolutely unsafe to be used with the stock NSX wirings.

Thank you! They make fake Lui's too and the real ones are always more expensive and much higher quality!
