I was doing some calculations for how much the wheel sticks out compared to the fender when changes are made to both the wheel width and offset. The following equation will quickly tell you how much farther the outside of the wheel sticks out compared to the stock wheel:
Outside Change (positive is further out) = NewWheelWidth/2 – OldWheelWidth/2 + OldOffset – Newoffset
The next equation will tell you how much further the new wheel will protrude inward:
Inside Change (positive is further in) = NewWheelWidth/2 – OldWheelWidth/2 – OldOffset + Newoffset
I posted this to the email list and thought this group may also be able to use it.
