EZ Chip Repair.

I just saw this commercial on the velocity channel for a product EZ Chip Repair. The stuff looks like it works really well. Almost to good to be true. So I wonder if anybody here has tried this product on any of their cars and had great success? Oh here is the site for the product http://www.ezchiprepair.com/

Very interesting. I wonder if this is the same type of stuff as Dr.Colorchip, or Langka.

Chromatose posted a pretty rave review of Langka in 2006. I might have to give it a try.

Results seem mixed, so I guess chance of success depends on the type of chip and technique used.

I saw something on a forum about dr colorchip and the guy didnt get results. Also, it seems like a lot of steps to make Langka to work. There could be some things that wont make it work well like temp outside.

Yeah, I did the search also. I guess I will be the first. Somebody has to do it lol. Sh!t the site only kits for cars from the years 2000 and up. So I have to contact them and see if I can figure something out.

I tried the Dr. Colorchip and had limited results. The color match was good but the chip didn't "disappear" as they claim. The paint shrunk quite a bit so you could still see the outline of the chip. Even with multiple coats it was still visible. Even though it did "touch up" the chip, and was better than a touch up brush in a bottle that the dealer would sell, I wasn't really satisfied with it. Please post your results.

there's only one way of correctly "touching up" a chip.

Sand it down..
Touch it up carefully with the correct paint..
Use a bonding agent clear, build it up as high as the existing clear..
Bake the clear with a heat gun...
Wet Sand / Buff until it's right..

I've been using the touch-up brush in a bottle on the big chips in my front bumper. It definitely improves the sight of the paint from 10+ feet away. Closer than that, and you see the shape of the chips although the color is a pretty good match. There are many small chips though that I couldn't get the brush in. I would be interested if this product, or others like it, could fill in those mini-chips to give a more uniform, black appearance.
