Ferrari or Aston? What car of which brand would you rather own?

and No, I can't afford either, sadly.

If you had the money to get anything from either brand, what would you rather drive?

I would personally go for AMV8V, the most handsome car in history, IMO.
Why not F430? well,.. it's big, it doesn't sound as shrieking as F355.. it just sound like big v8, which it is now(not that it's a bad thing, i like big V8's.. ). and it doesn't look as good as F355...
..

Anyhow, so, what's your preference?

Ferrari F430. I think I would drive around with a grin bigger than ever every day. I just think F430 is a drivers car. Aston Martins are cool, I would rather have one but drive the Ferrari. Though choice...

I just thought it would be interesting to see which brand the NSX owners would be more attracted to, seeing as

-Ferrari : more show
more go
expensive as hell

-Aston : not as much show(but EXTREMELY good understated look)
not as much go (still pretty competitive for gentleman's car)
pretty good value compared to F-car

and Aston is the underdog...
British seems to have slight preference towards Aston, but then Aston's british and we in NA don't care about that part.
What about you?

I really like Gallardo, if I had money today, i would get Gallardo(apart from NSX, of cos), instead of Murcielargo because as imposing as Murci is and as cool as the scissors doors are, I think G-do looks better, .. and much smaller, which probably makes it easier to drive(??).. i saw few G-do's around, and was surprised they weren't much if at all bigger than 911's.. pretty cool.

Well said. After NSX ownership, I realize I'm a GT guy for the most part (I daily-drive whatever I may have). So, Aston Martin would be my preference. The Vanquish_S is amongst my fav' all-time cars of exclusiveness!

Aston Martin, that's what I want my next car to be. Ferrari is great but I think value is important in the end, because I have to justify it to myself. Unless my situation changes of course and I become rediculously wealthy...although I would like to believe if I did I wouldn't change my opinion.

In general I'm going to try to avoid buying any car over 50k until it's a seriously $$$ purchase , better start saving.

Why do you think my avatar is a Gallardo? The Gallardo does *need* scissor doors though IMHO.

Yeah, i'm for the Aston.
In reality I'd probably buy a Ferrari (retains value better), but James Bond drives an Aston... so nuff said!



Note: that doesn't mean i'd buy a Cadillac just because Trinity drove one in Matrix Reloaded.

between the two specifically, without any restriction or limitation by: milage, maintainence issues, etc... i'd choose the ferrari f430 spyder over any aston martin... but with that said the aston martin AMV8 is one of my favorite cars and a realistic target for one of my next car acquisitions...

Well... I would say Aston but after seeing Casino royale and how they totalled a beautiful Aston within litterally 10 seconds of the chase scene totally turned me off for some reason... So I would have to say Ferrari all the way. :biggrin:
