Fire extinguishers

You can still get halon extinguishers - you have to go to an authorized halon recycling fire fighting supply company and have them fill a 5 lb. extinguisher for you. I have 5 of them - about $50. each.

Any good susbstitute for Halon fire extinguishers?

Is there a reason why? The short answer is "no". As mentioned before, dry chemical will put out a fire quicker than Halon, but will leave a residue mess so great you'd had been better off just letting it burn to the ground.
