I just bought 4 new tires, and the old fronts still have 1/8" of tread left - i.e., 1/16" of useable before hitting the wear indicator bars. They are in nice shape. I'm pretty easy on tires - these have 21,000 miles on them, so I could have gotten almost another 7,000 miles before hitting the wear bars.
